I'm in the same boat. I prefer diversity in music above all things, so a single black metal record begins to grow tiresome if they're not constantly switching it up (which is all too rare in the genre). I like it heavy and experimental.

I might have to look into them. I kinda got tired of black metal a few years back, but I might as well revisit the genre to see if it's gained any appeal again.

I'm pretty entry level too! aha, sorry to disappoint. D: Oh yeah, La Dispute is gr8, but I've been *meaning* to listen to Title Fight. I'm about to have a music day where I add a bunch of music into my ipod/laptop, so that's number one now.

I'll check them out sometime. I don't know how much you enjoy screamo (or skramz, if you want me to assert the fact that I'm not recommending you garbage), but if you do, I'd recommend listening to The Kodan Armada's "A Collection of Songs", and if you want a more lo-fi experience, anything from Henry Bemis is a Superhero (which I've been binge-listening to lately). Also, if you haven't heard it yet, Foxing's "The Albatross" was another emo record I loved from 2013.

Listened to their s/t a while ago. Thought it was very well done and definitely did well in its emotion/aggression aspects. Haven't heard many emo/"hardcore" records that are as good.

I love that aspect about his work too. Like they just treat all the fucked up shit so nonchalantly and even humorously. It's great. He has this one manga that's all about Soviet Russia that's essentially all humor.

Aw :3, thanks. And I also suggest reading Shintaro Kago's mangas. They are so unbelievably surreal. Like he wrote a lot of stuff for these really weird fetish magazines and a lot of his stuff just incorporates the most bizzarre things he could think of basically. It's like guro-manga x surrealism x comedy.

Kago is definetly a master of surreal horror and dark comedy, also check out Junji Ito and Kazuo Umezu they both do similar work.
