Not sure if you've heard this one. Pretty easily my favorite Burial and FourTet track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aSJeKrBXtQ

I think this might be something that interests you. More or less Clubroot but even a little more chill and slightly less boom on the bass. I really like it and it's all free. The link is to my favorite of what I've heard. http://existstrategy.bandcamp.com/album/lost-manifest

So I see you listened to a certain song a few times today and I decided to check it out. Worry is fantastic. Where'd you hear it and any idea on when/if Not Lars is coming out with more?

Find anything new and amazing lately? Things have been pretty stale on the "new and amazing" for me the past few months. I think old age is making me a cynical new music listener.

You understand it's 100% your fault that I got into any of that anyhow, right? All it took was you saying "Have you heard Burial's Archangel?" The rest is history. Holy Other overall is pretty good, but I can't say he's one of my favorites. Really, the reason I have fallen in love with this genre (whatever it is, I say Future Garage) is because when it's done well, the music has every bit of emotion that other artists get from more organic sources. I used to listen to nothing but aggressive music, whether it be rap or metal, but every since Burial I have just loved this darker, more laid-back form of electronic I didn't really know about until a little over a year ago. Okay, cheesiness over. Yeah, I like this stuff.

Why do I want to go swim in Lake Katatonia all the sudden? I think I am going to have to check out that ill.Methadology, I liked it enough to be curious as to what the rest sounds like. I like the first song you posted today, was almost kind of trancey in some sort of minimal way. When I was first getting in electronic music I was all about trance and still have a little bit of love for a few songs/artists. This is pretty easily my favorite trance song ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSoHjO0dIzQ I will be sure to check out the other links you just posted when I get home. I do agree with what you were saying about wanting something amazing, I haven't found anything I am crazy about lately that's new. I do love the new xx, but that's probably more so since I identify with the lyrics quite a bit. It's minimal in every sense of the word, but I kinda like it. Jessie Ware's release is decent as far as pop music goes. It's a bit more downtempo and "real" than most pop.

Alright, I finally got to the track you linked and liked it quite a bit. I like anything that's remotely glitchy with a good beat and that's what that was to me. Is that a full on collaboration with more tracks or was that a one off deal? I also finally checked out Emika.... She is a great example of not judging a book by the cover. I love what I've heard, I'm going to have to buy her stuff. I should have noticed she was on Ninja Tune, they are a pretty solid label. Thanks for the rec's! I don't have anything new to give you other than the new Katatonia is out and it's pretty great if you like their newer sound.

Also, that was very rude of you to talk about hearing Bloc Party for the first time when you were 15. That makes me feel rather old. :)

My order would be a little different but we both agree on Weekend in the City. For me it would be: 1) Intimacy - I don't know why, but I connected with that one more than any of their other releases. I loved how they incorporated electronics into their sound, even though a lot of their fans hated it. 2) Silent Alarm - Really, this is tied with Intimacy for me, but that would be taking the cheap way out. The ballads on this one are amazing and the more upbeat stuff is great as well. 3) Four - I like it overall, but it's just kind a like and not a love. I think they reinvented themselves their last 2 releases and removing the electronics, for me, kinda sucked. I do agree that this is their most rock oriented release and they do well with it. 4) A Weekend In The City, I like 4 songs, that's it. The best thing about this release is that Burial remixed a song I didn't like into something incredible. That remix is better than any song on this one.

I have not heard Emika yet but saw you listening and was curious. Checked out her Last.fm page and thought exactly what you said, that she would be some cheesy pop singer. Yes, I judge a book by its cover from time to time. Now that you describe her, you have me pretty interested. I am going to see if I can get to it this weekend.

So I'm probably losing my street cred here, but let's say I wanted to listen to Amon Tobin for the first time. Where should I start? I was browsing and his releases are cheap on Amazon so I thought I'd take the overdue plunge and check him out. Rate Your Music has Supermodified as his highest rated.

Congrats on graduating! Did you graduate college or university? I have recently become obsessed with the UK version of Skins (I won't watch the US one) so I picture your college experience to be just like that. Lots of sex, drugs and dubstep. What career path are you looking to get into? I remember form my FB days you were skinning models so I assume you were going for something in gaming/graphics arts. Whatever you are looking for, good luck!

Glad you like Lorn! I am not sure that it's a great release overall, but there are a few songs (mostly The Well and Weigh Me Down) which I just love... On Stumbeline, I can understand needing to be in the right mood for that, it's ultra chilled out so if you want something more upbeat, that's not it. Which is why Lorn is probably perfect. Lorn, to me, is the kind of music that you listen to in the car and it makes you feel like a bad ass just because you are listening to it. As far as Milwaukee artists, I am not sure that we have a lot of good ones. Outside of LOA and Lorn most of what we have (that is famous) is indie rock type stuff like The Violent Fems and I think The Promise Ring. Not my cup o' tea.

I had found that Feral Wrathchild song a while ago, I wish to God he'd flesh that one out. I bet you heard Lorn on Dirt 3, that's where I first heard him and Hudson Mohawke. I might like Lorn more than I should because he's from my city... If anything, check out the track "Weigh Me Down" from his new one, that's a great track. Stumbeline is a member of Swarms, his stuff is very low key and laid back with heavy sample use. If you like Swarms tracks like Flickr of Your Eyes, remove the dubstep part and that's Stumbeline.

They'll never beat Silent Alarm but I loved Intimacy a ton as well. New single is pretty good, reminds me more of Silent Alarm than Intimacy, A lot of time their songs/albums grow on me after a few listens. There really isn't a ton on the horizon I am dying to hear except for a new Katatonia in September, I think. I'm wondering if this year the good stuff came out during the first half of the year (Burial, Lorn, Stumbeline, Clubroot, etc., man almost everything I like now is electronic) but we got some time for more stuff to (hopefully) amaze.

No need to be sorry, I've removed myself from most of my former digital life, so I'm a bit harder to find. :) I actually bought the Bloc Party single (they are one of my favorites) but have yet to listen because I keep forgetting I have it. Going to check it out now, excited about their new album.

Overall I think it's a very good split. [artist]Nocow[/artist] doesn't do anything amazing but he's pretty consistently solid. [artist]Hmot[/artist] is a nice surprise, he actually feels kind of unique. Not sure if you knew that [artist]Volor Flex[/artist] released his second free one. It's more Burial worship, but that's not a bad think. http://store.darkclover.ro/album/my-story

A lot of image graphs. I'd say nothing exciting enough worth subscribing for. I'd only tell people to subscribe for the mobile app audio access. I just love the "Recommended Radio" for finding new stuff.

III got a good review on Sputnik which lead me to go back and listen again, I kinda forgot about Clubroot. I must have just not paid close enough attention before, it's real similar to Swarms minus the vocal samples and I love me some Swarms. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/49158/Clubroot-III---MMXII/ The guy who wrote the review writes a lot of electronic reviews, he's a good person to follow even though I don't really agree with him all that often.

Sweet! It looks like you're on track to have everything sorted then. I'm still working on 3D at the moment. I'm not going to get that garage finished, but hopefully in a state that's not too work in progress-ish. Then on Monday I'll do team stuff and dissertation. Then Friday try and start and finish Visual Design. YAY for Visual Design. Yeah I saw the QA opening too! I don't think I'd mind doing QA, could be fun and a chance to befriend developers and get tips for work etc.

Their first 2 discs are a millions times better than anything off If, but that might be just because that's where I started. If you can get Tight and Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy, do it. They are classics in my book.
