Oh, cool! so are you originally from the Kingston area then, or did you just move out there to study? As for myself, I'm currently studying illustration @ OCAD. I'm in my 3rd out of a 4-year long program. Ah great, we're on the same level, I love Touched! They have a lot of albums though, it's hard to keep up with them all haha. Yes, in terms of themes....I'm really big on nature, architecture, and surreal things in my illustrations, so maybe work that into this collaboration somehow? Btw I'm going to add you on fb so expect a friend request shortly. So I take it you play some instruments then, yes? :D

what/where are you studying, how long is your program? Well Nadja are one of my absolute favourites, I have seen them live 3 times and they just get better and better. Imo, I don't they think they have a really 'bad' album, haha. Do you have a particular favourite? Ok then, great! I'm looking forward to this, I'm always looking for opportunities to collaborate with writers since I'm looking into book illustration for a future career...so getting as much practice as I can is ideal :) Still, I will find some time to work on this. Ugh, I don't think we'll ever get the hang of managing university...I guess it just becomes more predictable with each year haha.

Back to music, if you don't mind, lol. I've recently discovered the beautiful music of [artist]Rodrigo y Gabriela[/artist] and here I go with a first recommendation. Well, it seems like there is always a wall to hit or one to live with no matter what one do for a living, lol. Or as a hobby. ;D But there is some fun into all this though and I do think that the learning curve is always interesting. ^^ You know, you pretty much nailed it down when you say "I'm finding it super frustrating when things don't go my way as it used to". XD That is pretty much where I'm at. I have the ideas, but can't seem to put them on paper so to speak. ^^ But I keep on trying every now and then. :) Digital media is something I have not tried yet other than photography, a renewed interest. ^^ Maybe I should give a go to the pen-tablet, who knows... So you paint too!? Now I got to ask, lol, are you on dA?

Yup, absolutely, lol. What I find interesting is how quickly all comes back most of the time and then boom, I hit the wall and have to work twice as hard, which can be frustrating, lol. Anyway, I’ll let you know for sure about my music. Thanks for your interest. :) As far as having a deviantArt account, the answer is nope. All my stuff is neatly tucked away in cardboard box and tube. ^^

Well, there are a few backburner projects I would like to revive but I find it hard to devote the time necessary and tend to procrastinate a bit too much, lol. Currently, I like to think of myself as a dormant artist of sort, hehe. I used to draw a lot and am now doodling more than anything actually drawing. I also have something like a dozen unfinished songs I wrote and co-wrote when I was playing the guitar with a band I had formed with friends way back. I am now devoting more time to guitar playing. That is re-learning what I forgot, learning how to play new songs I like, coming up with new stuff too, and also getting into the “boring” but necessary exercises of playing scales, chord patterns, legatos and other shit with my annoyingly sounding metronome, lol. I like to think I am getting back into it slowly but surely. ^^

Actually, thanks for sharing your work! Sucks you don't have access to the equipment anymore but I'm glad to hear you still have plans for this project. :) Even if it means severe abuse of the laptop. ;)

Wow! Really nice! :) I actually listened to both "Cosmic Drone" and "Memories of an Inkscratch" before but not with the same focus as I did tonight. ^^ I really like your "Memories of an Inkscratch".

Hey Jandei, I'm curious to know about a few things since I have listened to your compositions you have here on Last.fm. ^^ Seems to me like the same voice can be heard on both "Love in a Junkyard" and "Synchronicity" from your "Memories of an Inkscratch". Did you record the spoken poetry/words on those two tracks? Or are those samples, just like the men's voice and the beautiful singing of the woman on "Synchronicity"?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of EA but I can appreciate what she does and I want to experience at least one of her shows. ^^

Hehe, that was my third time seeing Opeth in a little less than a year. ^^ Call me a quasi-groupie if you like, hahaha! Twice in MTL and once in Québec City. And yeah, it was quite something to stand a few feet from this living legend. Been to a few shows in Québec including Rammstein and a few others this past Summer. :) Although I've often been in TO, I never got the chance to attend a concert there. Maybe I will one of these days, who knows. ^^

I completely agree with you, I shouldnt rush things. I Should just let nature takes its course and let the opportunities come to me. After all like you said, I have my entire life ahead of me. Its just the pressure of adults particularly my parents who pressure me into deciding prematurely
