Goodness me, I had precisely the same problem when I got here; I was hoping to be able to cruise along with lots of nice jobs purely based on my foreign-ness of my accent - this is not the case. Very well done for having a non-euphemistic splurge in the Big Apple; I find Toronto to be like its weird hipster cousin who smokes just a bit too much weed and avoids dairy. It's a beautiful place. I'm pleased to hear Nottingham is as it always is, it needn't change! What kind of job have you been looking for? Not that I'm the authority or anything, of course, but have you been in touch with Elizabeth Michael? They're the agency who found me six months of work at the 'Post before I came over here, they're extremely friendly and wonderfully quick. DO IT. Tell me about your numerous London town adventures, too. :)

Ah, how I've missed those puns. There just isn't the same calibre of double-entendres over the pond. Alas. Congratulations on your big splurge (not a euphemism) in New York, did you have a wonderful time? How is Nottingham these days? I know I've only been away for four months but it feels like an eternity, so much has happened. I do rather miss home, but for now I'm right where I feel like I want, and need, to be. I'm unsure how long I'll be staying here, depending on the work situation it'll likely be the full year, and then I'll return to dear ol' Blighty and fall back into the routine of being a non-accented loser. Such is the way :)

I am fine. Splitting a lot of time between Oxford and Nottingham and still working etc, though (and I’m fully aware that I have said this about 1000 times already), Im hoping to have a bit of a change and move down to Oxford/London/somewhere that isn’t Nottingham, later this year. I know, this is a serious lack of respect for the Last.fm scrobbles- though I guess they would mainly be embarrassing, as most of my music taste seems to be three months down the line. I will visit when I am next free in London. I might be there next week, but won’t know a) if I am in London till later this week and b) whether I will actually be free until the day itself, as it’s a work thing (I finally have a parliamentary pass though!) haha I feel the headphone pain! Lauren got me quite a nice pair for christmas but something has broken in them and now I have to hold them funny! On the reccommendation front have you heard Hot Chip's new album? that's quite good and understated. really lovely in parts. Alsso! Joanna Newsom. Her new album just came out, but ive not heard it! Milk Eyed Mender is good though. She sounds like a weird child singing and plays harp. I'm no good at describing music haha.
