read your review of Zola Jesus as I was there too (intimate not imitate right ? lol) - was really surprised how much I enjoyed it (much more so than laura Marling the previous night which was quite a surprise) - - also going to see Anna Calvi & looking forward to seeing her guitar playing in person

Were you that tall fella in the suit? You were a shining beacon of normality in a sea of pretentious kids.

Know ye of Joe McPhee? "Shakey Jake" was a tremendous lump of fusiony free jazz.

The main thing it's told me so far is that they misjudged the length of Ayler's "Ghost" by around 10 minutes. It is most definitely not a sub 3 minute track. Cecil Taylor at the mo' which for pianny-jazz, ain't too bad.

Yes, I'd come to the same conclusions, rang my visa company last night (but they shut the retail query part at 6pm and fraud weren't interested), and bought new tickets from ticket master. Now I'm afraid the original tickets will turn up! On safeconcert, 2 people have had a reply from emails to hydeparkboxoffice, one saying he would get a refund, the other that the tickets would be couriered at the end of the week.

Hey, I'm honoured to be able to speak to you again. Btw, I started putting together some LPD for you last night, I'm doing one CD of early stuff, and one later full album. I just found it rather amusing that you've got some ridiculously expensive speakers, and I'm sending you some home-recorded fuzzy synth-nonsense originally released on cassette in the early '80s.

Very much so. I've been dipping into the Simcock album since downloading it but haven't really done it justice yet. I'll have some jazz sceptics with me on the night so I'm hoping he'll win them round.

Old-fashioned and quaint? I was going to use the latest in wax cylinder technology :-( Random uploads are all well and good, but a CD swap is much more personal and targeted, just like the best forms of abuse. Not that I've any idea what I'd burn for you this time. Btw, Current 93 in your top artists already. Looks like there's been at least one success. Mr Tibet should pay me commission,

I actually didn't think the Fulborn was that bad this time round, although that singer's well out of place. Might be getting about time you stacked us up with a bunch of unlistenable jazz crap again ;-)

She does Trust In Me from Jungle Book on the first one (and Song To The Siren but that's not so good)

I picked up Love Trap for £2 in a bargain bin at the weekend but I think it stands up to the first album. She has a really good voice and this one has some hot guests (Iain Bellamy, Tony Allen)

Enjoy Little Nicky Cave tomorrow. Just got the album and am regretting not trying for tickets now.

Seriously good charts and events. Hope you're as broadminded when you grow up (worried that the bloke in the glasses is playing you Yes remixes).

No need to defend yourself there, that's pretty rockin' as far as I'm concerned. (And you've got some great friends, I might add :)

You're right, Monsieur! I should have introduced myself in a more fitting manner ;) Btw, Götterdämmerung followed by the Sex Pistols, what a combination!

Seems to have ignored all the stuff we don't have in common. Must be 2 people with a Specimen album and some David Torn rule in the algorithm. Btw, looking at your top artists, I see you like Neubaten so much they're in twice!
