hello

Hello and cheers from a Texas-based member of the Rolling Stones "nation" - you have excellent hearing, judging by your playlist! (-;

Hey, Lydia. A big 'hello' from the U.K. Many thanks for adding me as a friend here on Last.fm. I think that your taste in music is excellent and I am loving the artists in your music library. There are some artists in there who I have not heard before so, at some point soon, I will be giving your Last.fm Radio station a good listening to (I hope that you don't mind) especially as I am constantly adding to and updating my own music library. I'm always on the look-out for new and interesting sounds and I am looking forward to hearing your music. Please feel free to drop me a shout on my homepage at any time or whenever you are passing by. Even better, always feel free to recommend to me any sounds that you think I will like or that I may appreciate. Well, I hope that you manage to have a lovely week ahead of you. Take care and, once again, thanks. Peace :)

I can SEE you...

Where are you..?

Very nice taste =D

Actually i listen to a lot of classic rock.. Its just not scrobbled.. I also like dire straits, knopfler solo work, jimi hendrix, bob dylan, ccr, csny... Also some jazz and blues.. And ita always nice to stick to the roots.. Isn it?

You have some great charts there... And a great variety of artists..!? Also a very trippy display picture... :P

Hey....

Music is my refuge and medicine. Have fun in my library. lmk what you like. I have a lot of classic bands.

Little Feat!! Dixie Chicken is a classic. Fabulous Thunderbirds. Jimmy Vaughan is SRV's brother. They made a great recording together, Family Style.

I see that you found Joanne Shaw Taylor. It's one of my favorite recordings of the last year. Carolyn Wonderland, Robin Rogers, Laurie Morvan. Detroit Cobras are also a current favorite. Garage Soul. They take the garage sound of the 60s and find obscure r&b numbers to cover. Outstanding stuff!

Ok Stopped.. Now what.? :O

I don't see any Gov't Mule in your library. They are current and terrific IMHO. Grinderswitch is an older band that should have been better known. I see Joplin. Yes, she was amazing in person. Try Beth Hart. Grace Potter & the Nocturnals are one of my favorite current bands. I see Marc Benno in your library. I wonder where you found him :-)) He did a couple of recordings with Leon Russell "back in the day" He did a lot of session work, wrote some great songs and had some obscure but terrific recordings. I still have to get my vinyl transferred to to mp3 format. You'll find a lot of blues, blues-rock, and old school r&b in my library. I see that you have sampled some of it. I hope that you enjoy some of it. There is a lot of 60s soul. Of course, I liked Motown, but I favored the more gritty Stax/Volt recordings. You will find just about a complete run of the singles for both labels.

Going going.. Gone...

Thanks! I'm always here to answer questions if I can. Give a listen to the Deadstring Brothers and lmk what you think. Stones influence, but not derivative, IMHO :-))

Hi, I see that you dropped by and I thought that I would return the favor. Great charts. Stones have been my overall favorite band for...shall we say, a long time :-)) 1973, I saw them 2x in 1 day with Stevie Wonder as the opening act.

:D
