Do you think the scrobbles stopped because they passed away or because they stop using the service? Like, at least half of the accounts I find from comments pre-2010 are no longer scrobbling, statistically speaking the majority of which have not passed away in that time.

Interesting. I joined in 2019 and never had any problems. I use it only to track my music and sometimes read comments on songs/albums/artists. I don't really need updates or moderators to look over the forum side of things, so I always found it strange why someone would manually disconnect what would otherwise be a basically permanent linking to their music streaming service of choice. I've been on Spotify since 2019 and don't see myself switching anytime soon, maybe never.

I notice this quite often with last.fm users, do you think the scrobbles stop because they pass away or because they stop using the service? Like, at least half of the accounts I find from comments pre-2010 are no longer scrobbling, certainly they can't have all died?

Ah, forgot about accidental disconnecting. I think mine has been good for about 6 years now without requiring a re-connect.
