Yeah, the festival is mostly black and death with a small part of doom and thrash. I really regret not being able to see slayer when they came here. But there are some good shows before the year ends, opeth, testament and cannibal corpse are next for me :P

yeah sodom cancellation was dissapointing... but, the black metal stuff next year sure looks better than this year's line up... the stoner/doom it's fine but it can get better with the next band announcement

I would not know, main reason why I am going is because of Toxik! :D I heard MC's lastest album is pretty good. Also, Toxik is currently working on their new album! Which explains why they're coming to Europe, also for some nostalgic sentiments.

I know, MDF is actually the only real big metal fest in the US. I've never been to Wacken, maybe in the future but I did go to Headbanger Open Air, which was awesome! I would even prefer it above Wacken!

Sadly, I'm not going to MDF althrough I really really really would love to. My main line-up would be: Dark Angel, At The Gates, Asphyx , Cancer, Sacrifice, Nocturnus AD, Unleashed, Black Breath and Immolation.

In regards to the Mayhem fest.

When I went the year with slayer and manson during the earlier shows they had two stages set up in the gravel so you could stand wherever you wanted then during the headliners you would go to the normal pavilion area to watch whomever. Not sure if that's how it'll be this year.

They will probably play like 3+ songs from the electric age, I wonder what the setlist's gonna look like. I hope they play Coma or some other songs that they haven't really played during the last tour.

Well, I didn't know any of Absu songs, but their drummer/vocalist just amazed me so I had to check them out. Yeah I saw Destruction last May and gonna see them again this May (how convenient lol). I had to leave early last time, though, I was hoping to hear Total Desaster live. How did the fact that they were perfoming in LA make setlist any different? This year's anniversary tour has to be even more awesome.

To be honest, every supporting act bored me except Absu which opened for Immortal. I don't know why, probably it has something to do with me:)
