You should make Daydream Nation your next purchase, it's their best album by quite some way. Ridiculously epic in scope and sound. Oh and yeah i'm heading to Reading later on though i wasn't that bothered with the line up - seen most of the good artists before anyway. I take it you're going, who are you looking forward to seeing there.

Smiths, Morrissey, Joy Division ... Bon Iver. Add Nine Inch Nails to that and you've truly become a miserable bastard! Kudos on the Sonic Youth playage though man.

I think the tickets were £30 with fees ... it's the fees that piss me off really. They get you on ordering the tickets AND posting them ... it should actually be illegal what they do (ticketmaster, seetickets all those agencies.) Popplagio was pretty special and on Saeglopur they had a waterfall effect so it was an innovative show. Oh and i'm trying to cut back and only go to artists that i haven't seen before.Saying that i really don't have a clue why i'm seeing Bloc Party again ...

We're people who like music, therefore we have more right to discuss this rather trivial issue than someone who flicks on the radio occasionally and likes Katy Perry. Oh and cheers i'll have a quick browse over the interwebz and see if i can find it at some point. I just started at Orpington, studying Law, History, Economics and Eng Lit/Lang ... to be honest i could have stayed on at BGS and passed the IB easily; but i didn't really like it all that much so i thought i'd leave on principle (oh and the fact that 6 or so years at BGS is more than enough.) How about you man, what have you been doing with yourself of late?

I just don't know with Interpol ... i#'ve listened to them so much in the last year and i can't actually figure out why - i mean they're good but they're not THAT good (with the exception of their debut album) ... still i'd prefer them to Editors any day. Turn on the Bright Lights is their best album elsewhere you have ups and downs - i was never that much a fan of Antics; except the song Evil. And no i've never listened to Dartz .. i take it that i should from your beaming review.

I rate Interpol more than Editors; on the surface Editors may well be deemed better but Interpol songs have a habit of growing on you - while Editors kind of depreciate (in my view at least) ... oh and i've seen them both at Alexandra Palace; Interpol were great while Editors bombed so that sways my view a bit as well. Joy Division are depressing in sound but the back story adds a lot more to their music i think; it kind of doubles the morbidity of it. As for Franz well their first album was brilliant - wasn't too keen on the second but they've just taken fucking forever to come out with a third; kind of makes you wonder if they're going to be all relevant when they actually release it.

oh and Editors are a cheap UK version of Interpol ... and Interpol themselves are a lesser knock off of Joy Division ... embrace the roots, bro.

Yeah i've played it a couple of times so far - i think it's shit really. They were pretty shit at reading as well but at least mercury wasn't as bad as it was on record there. The other new tune they played there was "One Month Off" which is probably the most like old bloc party - still not all that good. They're way too fucking overproduced nowadays.

Lou Reed tonight yeah, wow i'm going to be so fucking depressed tomorrow. It's practically the most depressing album of all time, give or take some Smiths and Joy Division. Alexandra Palace is an average venue you at best; you don't know what you're going to get: Editors were shit there while Bloc Party were pretty good. Buying records off eBay you say, do you actually get good deals off there for CDs? xx

Wow, last fm is a pile of wank. Sounds good, i'd watch out if i were you though ... i might have planted some traps somewhere, not sure where mind you ... but yeah Sigur Ros at a shit venue = Lovely. To be honest the venue itself isn't actually THAT bad; it's just a nightmare to get to and from. And that seems to be quite a big spend up, probably what i've spent on gig tickets in the last month. I tend to download more now than i did before, because i like wrecking the industry an' all that.

Besides tonight had Karma, Android, Iron Lung, Bends, Lucky and No Surprises. I'd say that makes for a stronger set ... though i must say i've got a renewed appreciation for their experimental stuff. Well, last night the set was kind of for the hardcore fans. 9/10 songs off of In Rainbows - only a couple off OK Computer and The Bends. Tonight i was like a couple of rows from the front so i could actually see them this time and they had a much better setlist with more classics. Both were good but tonight was better, it only gets going after dark really.

Meh, you can always see Bullet for my Valentine there instead ...

Same really, i have a couple of albums in my library but i've not really played them all that much - i'll get round to it sometime i guess. You've got a couple more in June and July - shit, we both go to loads of gigs and our paths never cross. Alright mate, they're bloody good shows too! Well ... the ones i choose anyway. Massive Attack are pretty sick and you should download the Mezzanine album because there's not a bad tune on it. Ay, Sigur Ros are pretty good as well - i would have bought tickets to see them this month but i'm at Radiohead the same day, oh and you only discovered Sigur Ros?
