Biyografi
After the formation of the local rock band called Revolver, it was the fall of 1999 that a guitarist, Ilhan, came up with the idea of forming a new band together with Jay (Huseyin) and other good musician friends to play the tunes of certain bands that they loved and cherished for years. That is how the story of TheUnreal (unofficially and formerly called as Unreal) started.
The year of 99 was a time for TheUnreal to promote its own musical status at a local bar. Rising started after a couple of months of success which dragged a lot of followers. This caused an enthusiasm to other bars all over Cyprus and provided the band an opportunity to play around the country; so they did. Many local gigs at bars and rock festivals have taken place.
Throughout the years a lot of talented musicians joined the band and the band continued to climb to its final stage today; Huseyin Kirmizi keyboards, Hasan Gumus bass, Mert Guclu drums, Inanc Ersen guitars, Nick Leptos vocals, Ilhan Erbil guitars.
The band, having appeared before many local shows and concerts, was also given invitation by the ‘rock for peace festival’ in Istanbul Turkey which took place in 2003 before a crowd of 40,000. Throughout all those years the band increased their followers by appearing in many gigs, bar shows and concerts.
In 2009 there came a time where the band faced a matter: to write songs altogether, in late 2009 – early 2010 writing process started at Hasan’s studio. Rare live shows continued which again elevated the demand and proved that the band still receives a great round of applause from lots of people. The recording took place mid 2010 in Cyprus where the album was sent to Germany for mixing mastering. The album cover was drawn in Italy.
This was of course to follow the time that The Unreal was recognized in the rock music history; but that is another story yet to follow…
