It doesn't get much more beautiful than this in music. [4] I always love to hear the soft, lighter side of Opeth's catalogue, such as this gorgeous track. [3]

I still clearly remember seeing this live 7 months ago. Perhaps the best song I've ever seen live.

"Together with Still Day Beneath The Sun, they are the hidden gems of Blackwater Park. I don't get the logic of excluding these two beauties from the main album. They would have fitted pretty darn well. " [1]

Mikael Akerfeldt could be in pretty much any band he wanted to - no matter the genre - and he'd make quality music.

It's not the heaviness and slowness that makes Opeth versatile, it's the thoroughly enjoyable combination of songs that have taken influence from many different genres. Mikael Akerfeldt is very knowledgeable when it comes to all sorts of music, and he knows how to combine these sounds into something that's unique to Opeth.

And I've got to disagree completely with IronCurtained. As amazing as Opeth may be, hardly they could be called versatile just because they can play the both the heaviest and softest songs known. I mean, they should be able to play all the way in-between these two extremizations.

I love the solo in this at about 3 minutes in until the end of the song. I love the backing acoustic guitar too.

I compledtely disagree with you on the growling, athough it's all subjective but it brings out the amazing emotional qualities of their lyrics by a master singer such as mikael akerfeldt. As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for Orchid or My Arms, Your Hearse and even Still Life I think Opeth wouldn't be that great, plain and simple. The fact they can produce music like this song and many others (damnation album, hours of wealth, etc) just makes them the most versatile band known to man. They are amazing, I've seen them live 4 times and I can't get enough. Once you get used to intense vocals you'll understand. With you being just like everyone else who can't comprehend or understand intense lyrical vocals... it just takes time.
