The audiobook version as read by Nicol Williamson is, to my ears & mind, hands down, the best of ALL audio versions of The Hobbit. It puts the full cast BBC version to shame because Williamson is a master storyteller and truly a master of voices. He must have done a couple of dozen different character voices for this recording, and they're good --much "closer to Jackson" and, somewhat ironically, more authentic sounding than the BBC radio play performances; first class stuff. One can almost hear pipeweed being smoked in the background...
