Saw this album on a /mu/ thread a few years back and have loved Can ever since. My eternal thanks go to whoever made that thread.

Probably my favourite Can Album. So blooming inventive and mind blowing. Wish I could go back to the time I listened to it first again

Fun fact: this album was originally going to be the first four songs only because Can wanted it on a single vinyl (A side for the first 3 tracks and B side for Halleluhwah), but the last 3 songs which were never supposed to be released got included because Irmin Schmidt's wife liked them so much. Listen to your wife, boys, they might just be right.

This is a brilliant album, up there with "Trout Mask Replica" as far as avant-garde masterpieces. Under the word "psychedelic" in the dictionary, there should be a picture of this album. Can't believe I didn't get into this group earlier.

Лично в плане моих предпочтений с ним может соревноваться разве что "In Search of Space" Hawkwind или "Hard Attack" MX-80 Sound.

Incredible album, the first three tracks could be played on a loop forever but from Halleluhwah onwards it gets elevated to a whole other level .

@ProgClow Great thoughts on "Aumgn!" I've always liked the track myself but it seems to be the one people struggle with on here. Maybe your comment will help someone who was otherwise not able to appreciate it start to like "Aumgn."

Think about Aumgn as a conceptual piece. Czukay once said tago mago sounds like a trip from light to darkness and then light again. It's an eletro-acustic experience on early dark ambient. First come the dogs barking and then the drumming. As mind blowing as krautrock can be!

Brilliant from start to finish. I prefer Future Days, but Tago Mago has earned its lofty critical status. This is probably Jaki's finest hour (there are some parts of "Halleluwah" that literally had my mouth hanging open in amazement the first time I heard the song) and Damo's as well.

"Halleluwah" is in my view probably the ultimate Can song. Just an incredible, epic groove from start to finish, with some absolutely amazing drumming from Jaki. Very rarely do I say I wish a song that runs 18 minutes was actually longer, but in this case I mean it.
