she absolutely loved it!!! Was well worth the hassle of coming through to Usher Hall -- there wasn't even a queue!!! So we were first inside :) Wee man keeps asking after you.... I think he wants to wipe the floor with you in Uncharted ;)

you know it's bad when the band uses ear plugs ;) there was a crescendo moment ....very akin to the Mono moment....it literally blew me off my feet.... (I'm totally blaming the amps for that!)

I'd try listening to it at night, preferably before you go to bed/while you're in bed. He's definitely a "late night" artist, it's best listened to with the lights off and not too much distracting you. Just try paying attention the the little details, especially the atmosphere he creates and the vocal samples he uses. To be honest I wasn't a huge fan when I first heard Untrue, but it grew on me a LOT and still continues to grow on me. If you don't like it at first don't feel discouraged, just give it a spin every once in a while and I'm sure it'll catch on. :)

Burial - Untrue [2] Seriously man, once you hear this album, you'll be hooked. Give it a couple listens and let it sink in, and make sure you either have some good heaphones with bass, or good speakers with bass. Can't listen to this stuff on laptop speakers.

Yeah Shellac are one of the best live bands, just an unbelievable show. I reckon they'll give out earphones at the MBV gig, they did last time - I was daft enough to not wear them and my ears were fucked for a day or two. At the moment, I'm really into Scrawl, they're an all-female band originally, who released some brilliant records in the late 80s and 90s - great lyrics, catchy and fun, with some really cool bass and drums. Well worth checking out man. What about you, heard anything good of late?

I saw Shellac at the weekend there at ATP, reminded me of when we went to see them at ABC years ago - remember Aidan Moffat supported, with that cheap keyboard and those hilarious/obscene lyrics? Haha, what a night - but aye, I'm definitely up for that at MBV man.

there's a group of albums called 'Back to Mine' they are compilations created by artists or groups -- music they chill out to at home -- There's over 30 of them... not sure if you've heard any of them, but I'm totally addicted to Lamb's Back to Mine called The Voodoo Sessions....you might like check em out :D

Yeah man, they have some great songs. PAWS was so much fun, tons of crowdsurfing & limb-flailing going on, and it's great to see a friend's band doing so well. Kinda renews my underlying hope of alt-prog-folk superstardom =P Which reminds me, the new band have our first gig on the 19th! Still considering names but i'm quite set on Sloth of the Metropolis, or maybe just Sloth Metropolis. Hows the new Godspeed?
