For something light-hearted and funny, Jonathan Coulton has some humourous geek-folk-rock, often with a maths or computer theme. Try e.g. <a href="http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songdetails/Mandelbrot%20Set">Mandelbrot set</a>, or some of the free downloads at http://www.jonathancoulton.com/store/downloads/. As for posts showing up on separate lines, I noticed that yours did show on separate lines in the email I got from last.fm notifying me about it, although it did not on my actual profile. Odd.

Hmm, it is hard to pick a single band. Here are a few different directions. If you want to try some futurepop/industrial, mind.in.a.box are good. You can dowload a few of their tracks from their website, at http://www.mindinabox.com/things/main.php. If you like that kind of music then there is a podcast called RSA which I recommend; find it at http://synthetic.org/. There is a 40 minute or so show each week, which is pretty much all music. Cat recommended this to me. For some fairly accessible, happy trance / electronica, Lagoona are quite good (or Andreas Viklund, who has released some of his own music since). You can download some of it from http://andreasviklund.com/music/. If you want to try something different, Adiemus have some nice calming vocal music (you may have heard it playing in Memphis sometimes), or try playing last.fm radio for artists like Gregorian or Enigma, or tags like newage or ambient. Word limit up, will make another post...

Well, I do not share all of your taste in music, but listening to some of the same music as people younger than you is not bad per se. By all means listen to a wider range of music if you want to; you may find that your tastes change as you discover new genres. last.fm is good for that. (-: There is a lot of good and interesting music out there, not all of it widely played.
