I also watched the footy, vaguely remember the second half...I think (?) I really enjoyed Liars. Definitely felt like a really short set but then I did go out after as well and continued my quest to replace all liquid in my body with beer. Didn't fall over though :D

Haha seeing as it's curated by Shellac, maybe that's the key to living there forever - get them to play their set backwards!? I love waltzers!!! Nothing else makes me quite so carefree and giddy. Apparently they're not allowed to spin them at Butlins anymore after a derailing incident...haha if I lived near waltzers I'd go on every day! They make me so happy :D and yeah, right windy! We had to reel him back in on his lead and throw him back in the car he was only a king Charles! Haha

No way! I used to walk round Hollongworth Lake every weekend as a nipper! Lived in Rochdale til I was about 8. My dad's dog also turned into a kite once when we were there cos it was so windy! Best memory of 2003. Bloody love the Walters. The ones in Minehead made me genuinely sad for my life because they didn't spin round! There were 4 of us trying every combination of people per waltzer/ leaning etc. but all to no avail... :(

Weirdly I also wrote the wrong 'your' on my friends fb last night and then awarded myself a B- ,I'm one of those really annoying people who write everything properly with the correct punctuation in texts. Me and Bob had a great time, there is a rather excellent photo of me standing on his foot having a cigarette. I am very excited about Liars on Friday!! I was always shit at the driving games. Used to love watching my bro play Time Crisis though. Do you live in an arcade!?! When I was in blackpool last year with my two best friends we won loads of the 'free' shit from the 2p machines! I think we ended up with a keyring that was a tiny trainer, a notepad with smiley faces on it and a mini frisbee. Probably cost us about £30 hahaha

my brother had to keep a close eye on me cos I always found my way to the 2p machines! Think I maybe had a go on the dance mat!? Oh god.

Unfortunately, in between working to save pennies to go again and receiving counselling for my addiction to the 2p pusher machines I haven't really had a lot of time to strategise. I'll have a think :)

yeah, i have tickets for warpaint in may (no idea where gorilla is though?!)… i missed their last tour too, but my friend grace went & said they were excellent. i've heard through the grapevine that braids might be playing leeds soon too so am keeping an eye out for that, i had a listen to native speaker this weekend and thought it was pretty good (my laptop sound card is broken, so everything is going onto CD and in the CD player… i feel so old-school it’s unreal). lucky you getting to work from home, a couple of days a week is better than nothing!! i think i might find it hard to motivate myself to get out of bed if i had the luxury of working at home, though. haha, you make a good point! jedi slobs. mind you, i wouldn’t be wasting any time on jezza kyle if i had the force behind me… i’d be out playing jedi mind tricks on people for shits & giggles! x

Ah that's fine, I prefer this to Facebook so I'm pretty good at responding heh. Character limits are a bit of a pain though. Oh that doesn't sound too pleasant, is it closer to Oxford Road or Victoria then? I haven't really played on it since I completed Prince of Persia, someone gave me Tales of Symphonia and I forgot to play it so then they took it back and sold it D: aha rather just fork out for an arcade machine than a Dreamcast , my room's probably too boxy for one though. You should, it’s a wonderful website. Have you panic-bought many tickets lately? I’m deeply upset at missing out on tickets for the London Death From Above shows, I may have to scope out what eBay has to offer. Are you one of those jammy people that get to work from home?! My friend Mike is a web designer and he only has to go to his office one day a week. I am incredibly envious, being shackled to a desk 37 hours a week (an office desk, it’s nothing sinister!). Excellent theory, don’t you reckon that all those light sabre fights would burn off a few calories though!? I know, doesn’t it look lovely? Hopefully I’ll get to go! If the sun bothers you, you should get a parasol. That’ll take care of that, and it would be ANOTHER excellent crowd-control device. I am full on inventions! x

Aha I can imagine so! Probably the first thing I shouldn't have done was hook up with an American tourist who'd only been in Manchester for 3 days. But hey who needs local knowledge when you've got an iPhone. They are so much more fun! I'm not a huge fan of those either, haven't even got any games consoles anymore aside from my Gamecube. Aha I did exactly the same at ATP! Ended up going to play House of the Dead momentarily while Belle and Sebastian were on and probably spent a similar amount. It's too tempting ): oh no that sucks, you have a Dreamcast though? Ohh shame, they were playing for free in Liverpool a few months ago but I missed it D; I'm definitely not going to Dum Dum Girls I think but I may be going to Warpaint seeing as a few of my friends have mentioned it. No idea where the venue is though so that should be a nightmare, have to latch onto someone to guide me there (although preferably not a tourist again).

That almost happened to me when I was in Manchester once until a friendly (all be it slightly racist) New Yorker guided me and my friend to the venue after stopping off for beer. Heh, it's nice to be reminiscent of the Thatcher years. Yes! Biggest outside of Asia apparently, plus the Banksy rat is right by it. Shame the Chinatown itself is never really hustling and bustling. I la la la love arcade machines, you a fan? Last time I was on one was in Affleck's Palace in Manchester, tempted to hit up a seaside town like Southport while I'm off and find an old version of House of the Dead. Oh that's a bit of a shame, needs to be more good and proper arcades, if they had one in the city centre I'd be set. Ducks are wonderful, although I've unintentionally maimed a few after lobbing large pieces of bread that managed to hit them in the face. I don't seem to use umbrellas so much anymore since I had all my hair hacked off so it's all good aha. Oh and how were Sleigh Bells / Tennis?

I certainly am, Manchester would probably be more of an ideal hip n happening place to be but that's not on the cards. Really? Most things that come to Liverpool usually go to Manchester too. I've never really listened to Mogwai too much but I love The Twilight Sad. Ha, that does sound pretty hectic! I am admittedly a horribly lazy person but if I was offered to go on a mega fun adventure with Scottish beardy men I'd be there in a shot. One of them bit my Sharpie so now it has some nice bite marks in the lid heh. Your last few days sound like paradise, give or take the aspect of being ill. I've been ill! And consequently, ignored my laptop for a little while to concentrate on hibernating/recovering. All leading to me missing out on Coachella! :( CURSES. I was far too laid-back about it, when I went in 2009 I bought my tickets about 3 weeks before the actual festival... I don't think it even sold out. Have YOU learned your lesson!? I bet you don't have tickets for all the events you're 'attending' ;) x

Chubsters are the bane of costume parties it seems. I'm debating whether or not to go, it's in Manchester which is a pain and I won't be able to convince people to go (unless I resort to buying them a ticket to go with me like the last time). Gosh and you're seeing The Twilight Sad too, haven't seen them since I ran after them in the street in a crazy fangirl state to find they were stoned and in a hugging / face touching mood. Jealous, wish I could laze around dreaming of gig related things. Ha, what's your job if you don't mind me asking?

It certainly looks impressive. I've just realised I may have inadvertently made a faux-pas by referring to it as a dinosaur mask though when it might possibly be a crocodile! I have a dinosaur mask too you see, sadly mine is not hand-made (in my defence, it's the only costume I've ever had that I didn't make from scratch!) but it still provided a lot of entertainment at the time. You should definitely rebuild! Coachella has sold out now, before I got the opportunity to get a ticket. Woe is me. x

It’d be great if they toured, but I heard they were only reforming for Coachella. It’s rubbish when you’re stuck in a big tent like that, stuck in a sweat-festival of people. Is that your mask in your little icon? Next time, you should just take that with you and barge through the crowd making dinosaur noises. I suspect the mask will knock most people out of your way, & for those that it doesn’t, the dinosaur noises should be sufficient to scare them into backing off! Instant stage access :D Haha, your friend’s support band sounds like a chuckle. This will teach you to always buy your tickets on time! Congratulations on the free drink, maybe you should make this a regular scheme. Just stand next to girls, looking boyfriendly. When we went out for NYE I told lots of strangers my friend was as German exchange student that didn’t speak much English and had lost her euro – she looked pleadingly on, raising her empty glass and looking at the bar. A surprising amount of people fell for it! x

It does get pretty hot. Three of the four stages are shaded though and there's a sort of a DJ set area with water spritzers where people can go to cool down. It's not unbearable, and totally worth it :) I went in 2009 and it was amazing! It is expensive though, thankfully they have a 'layaway' option this year where you can pay in chunks. Which is a good job, as I'm not just hopeless with saving but generally rubbish with money full-stop. I've already seen a fair few of the bands I'd watch (at least four of them at the Belle & Sebastien ATP - it's like an ATP reunion!!) but to be honest it may be worth it just to see DFA 1979 play! Never caught them live when they were together, and I bet they're MENTAL. Aww thankyou, I didn't go in the end though... the siamese twin prop just didn't look believeable, and I was knackered. I feel I've let down the 'people who go to gigs alone' group! I'll catch them at Coachella anyway (the band, not the group). How were your friend's band? x

Ahhhh! That would also be a good group for me to join (although I'm not guilty of it on this occassion)... maybe we should set one up! I could just pretend to have an actual imaginary friend, that'd also work, although it might earn me more strange looks than if I'd gone alone. Alright? I've just been having a bit of a nosey at attendees of Sleigh Bells and came across you so thought I'd say hello... hello! Had to have a little chuckle at the irony of you being in a "those who go to gigs alone" group... after being let down by a friend, I was contemplating either buying an extra ticket (and bullying...er, convincing my sister to come along with me), selling my own ticket, or designing a siamese twin prop so that I don't look lonely. You've been to everything I've been to, how terrifying. I found Beach House a little bit dull to be honest. I like them and everything, but live it just seemed a bit unexciting. I'm willing to agree that swans are probably the most evil birds in the world. I've just seen that you like Sonic Youth - I'm going to see them in December, exciting times. Oh and I've just seen that you're attending that too, haha. I was about to make a "no doubt you'll be there too" joke before I saw that, but whatever.

That's pretty lucky then, at least you got to see them. I have seen Liars, I saw them at Dot to Dot and I'm seeing them again at Constellations festival hopefully! They are pretty good live, and Angus is definitely a bit eccentric. I live near geese too by the way; I thought that'd interest you seeing as according to your "about me", you seem to speak to birds a lot.

I did, I thought they were brilliant - probably the best band I saw, definitely very noisy! Yeah, I was around for the three days and managed to see everyone I wanted to. Glasser was very good last night. Did you see anyone amazing? Impressed with all the Liars plays by the way.

I dunno, all birds look pretty freaky to me. Wern't you meant to be going to Camera Obscura? They played a new song, called "Swans". I secretly like to think they came onto last.fm and looked at the shoutboxes of all who went, and saw our avarian themed conversation and quickly penned a brand new song to present to us on the night. But you didn't go. You ruined their surprise. Tsk. Or... I may be thinking of someone else.

The heron in our backyard is pretty pretentious. I mean, he -knows- there's a net over the pond, but he stands there staring at the fish anyway... Thankfully, there are no geese, or ducks, or mallards or flamingos and such where I live. Our street is dominated by cats (of which I have noticed, enjoy sniffing tyres on cars. Which doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever.)
