Hey dude, I just happened to see that I got a shout from you. I'm doing alright, how are you? Not much is new here, just working, taking care of the kids, and working on Hammer Smashed Sound. Reading a lot, watching sports a lot (need some way to get away from reality, right?). Trying to lose some weight, get in better physical shape. Trying to learn some primitive skills, such as starting a fire from absolute scratch, It's a million times harder than I ever expected.

Nothing much changes here. I'm doing well enough. The only new thing is that we now have a dog, in addition to three kids, two cats, and 4 fish. It's a busy house.

To be honest, I'm not really listening to much Black Metal anymore, other than the occasional few songs. I just wanted to give the fans a place to talk because it's one of music's most despised genres, sort of a safe haven you know? It's all cool brother :-D.

yea me too. I go through short binges. I would listen to alternative rock nonstop for a couple of days then move onto sludge and listen to that and then move onto something else.

Hey! The only drawback of the Kyuss reunion is that Josh Homme won't be on guitar. There's a really heated debate going on right now about whether it's wise to press on without him. Personally, I think the only reason Homme won't do it again is he's making more $$$ with Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures than he ever did with Kyuss. I don't think it has anything to do with "preserving their legacy". No ones asking for big arena shows, just a Kyuss reunion. Reuniting doesn't necessarily equate to selling out.

Funny, I listened to Eagle Twin today as well, though it hasn't scrobbled yet because I played it through my iPod. Skagos is working on a new album called, An-Archic, but there's no release date or anything yet. They lost some of the files for a while, but still no release date, cuz they've been busy with other things. For example, Ray plays in Fauna now. But I'm sure when it surfaces people will be blown away. Having heard early mixes myself, I'm sure you'll be floored by it.

I dunno... they're both good, but sound very different to me. Eternal Sustain sounds more mature to me, a little more complete. Hell yeah man, Dragged into Sunlight is just absolutely crushing. Some albums that are THAT heavy only work for me sometimes, but I've yet to find a time that Dragged into Sunlight doesn't work for me. Soooooo good.

Listened to Ayr after checking out your charts; I think I've found another band to partner the Tallest Man on Earth with! :P

You weren't shitting bro, the Ayr demo is really good. I went digging a bit and found that their new album "Eternal Sustain" is available for free streaming or to download (for $5.50) on their bandcamp page: http://ayrofficial.bandcamp.com/ And hell, man, it's ten times as good as their demo.

Yeah that had one of the better releases of this year imo. The Grotesquery is another one that is pretty good, it's a death metal concept album about a coffin born kid, pretty interesting and really good if you can get past the spoken word intros.
