Hello m'lovely, what do you reckon to that new(ish) M83 album i noticed you've been listening to a few tunes from? I'm a little ambivalent but did used to absolutely love them. Hope all's well xxx

I don't really know much of her solo stuff either, just the last album, which had occasional moments of greatness, but was a bit rich for my liking, like eating a whole packet of toffees in one go. She should be worth investigating though. Hope to see you sometime soon, we must meet up for a drink, next week perhaps? P.S. Have a great time at ATP!

I see Neko Case is confirmed for EOTR now - do you like her solo stuff? Maybe she'll bring a Pornographer or two along just for you!

Hello! Yay to you finally having the internet, good work! Hope you're enjoying the flat and getting settled now - would love to visit some time soon, yeah! EOTR is very exciting, yeah, really looking forward to that - some excellent new bands announced, and I'll just be happy if I get to see Alela Diane and The Broken Family Band to be honest. Got my ticket for The Wave Pictures today too - you going to that?

*waves to whoever's doing the listening, Damian I reckon*

Hello Kerry! Do you and Damian fancy The Boy Least Likely To at the Social this Friday? You should come out to play, I haven't seen the pair of you for ages!

I meant to ask, have you investigated Marissa Nadler yet? I reckon you'll really like her if you like Alela Diane. Anything from 'Songs III: Bird on the Water' is great.

Yellow! x

Ah, I finally managed to log in! I'm kind of addicted to this thing already, but I suspect that's more to do with having nothing to do at home then anything else. Well that, and the fact I love stats. I've never really listened to Tom Waits. I heard some songs once and got scared. I've not got that David Thomas Broughton album, but I'm fairly sure Rob has because I think I've heard it. I'll try and get a copy. Also I had no idea he was playing again! I definitely want to see him. Yay!

Hello! I like the stalking, it's good. Last FM claims that our music compatibility is low. LastFM is an idiot. I happen to know I own that Spoon record you've been listening to (just not got it with me) and I've seen David Thomas Broughton. Anyway, I'm jealous, you're music list looks way better than mine.

hey, phsyched bout Emmy in Notts? I am

i'm glad you enjoyed yourself. i've been somewhat 'gigless' recently, i did go and see richard hawley a few weeks back and it was very, VERY good heh. i'm not sure if you've heard of a guy called pete molinari? he supported hawley and i'm off to see him in london on thursday, worth checking out if you've not heard. i leave the country very soon for 6 months so i'll be away from all gigs! nightmare. hope this reaches you well :)

I meant to say aswell, i downloaded the newest black keys but its a bit shit.

I am in dire need of new musical recommendations! I might listen to your radio.. and download some nightmarchers finally. Bad speedo fan. x

how was tom waits!

The Morning Benders on how they met: “We were all working at Disneyland for one reason or another. We were all at Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride…It seemed like after that wasn’t there, there was no point to really stick around because it was a dead scene, you know. So we started a band.” Check out The Morning Benders' Uncensored Interview ! ! !

The gig was pretty good, though I actually spent about 45 minutes sat down. I like the new album as well - I'd say it's like an evolution of their last one rather than anything totally different, and I really liked the last one...

eeeeeeee what the hell is this new last.fm madness!

I'm guessing from your Facebook status that you didn't make it to Cryptacize either, then... I'm listening to the new MMJ album ready for the gig tomorrow evening...

i think i might go and see cryptacize, and i'm tempted to go and see ben folds as well. there's been a glut of new albums by good bands coming out - wolf parade, the hold steady, my morning jacket. i really want to see wolf parade live, so i hope they come to the uk sometime soon...

Well Low, cos they're my favourite band.. but also Jason Molina, haven't seen him since the Songs:Ohia days about 10 years ago... Ooh and Tindersticks and I've never seen Dirty Three!

Hey, you're going to End of the Road. Me too. It looks ace.

sounds like you had a good time, anyhow! my gig going has been quite rubbish of late - i didn't make it out at the weekend because my sister came to visit. i'm looking forward to the my morning jacket gig though - i like their new album...

Make a post about what you bought on livejournal ;) I'm well nosy when it comes to other peoples shopping. x

Yeah would definitely recommend everything all the time if not for the funeral alone! xxx

music at work used to be better when there were fewer people to distract me. it's still better than no music at all though! i work upstairs in unit 6, which is first on the left as you go up the hill from octavia house. i'm quite often wondering between buildings 1, 3, 4, and 6 though, which are all alongside the road - it's quite possible you drove past me...

<3 band of horses, funeral is amazingness xx

no, i didn't even try and that was really silly of me looking back. i've always said i'd never miss seeing him if he played the UK again...yet i'm stuck on my final placement for my degree this summer and i just can't afford/get there/do anything :(. tis very sad. i've had so many conversations with my dear friend jack about how much we needed to go...and we've missed out again! i'm sure you'll have a super time, i went to see morrissey in london on my own earlier this year, and that involved a couple days on my own. i quite enjoyed it, took a great book and just wandered around listening to a wonderful playlist. i think i shall book a tiket for the social, i'm sure it won't cost much and from what i've heard (two songs hah) then i do quite like :) x

ahhhh you're seeing tom waits! :(

hmm micah p hinson, i'm currently downloading a couple of free mp3's...which may lead me to attending the social hah :)

It was a class message! I've had a manic weekend so i'm getting slack at replying. My jealously is unrivalled though haha xx

Fucking christ i just clicked who the night marchers were! I didn't even know speedo had a new band. In that case YOU MUST GO! if not just for me :p Please get a picture of Speedo even if its just a crappy cam phone pic :p I will LOVE YOU FOREVER. Have a fab time! *cough* well jealous :p xxx

Yeah thats the thing i find with the black keys, they sound amazing when you listen to a couple of tracks but whole albums get a bit boring. But i've not heard the new one! Just one track that i needed to download :) And no i've not even heard of night marchers! What are they like? I say go anyway :p x

Mmmm black keys, do you have the new/last album? I've had a nightmare trying to get a certain track off soulseek. x

I'd have to take a day off work to go, which is what has put me off doing anything so far. I do really want to go though...

I haven't done anything about it, but I'm really tempted...

They were rather amazing actually, have you ever seen them?

Hello. I see you're a Low fan :)

hello, long time no see...how you doing?

hey, just realized that u're going to nick cave s show on May 9th. I desperately need to swap my single ticket for May 7th so please drop me a message if you like to do so. cheers! nb. barry adamson will be support on the 1st night!

I'm back from Rome now - I didn't get your message until I got back, but not to worry - I ate plenty of ice cream while I was there! (and lots of other good food...). Hope your first exam wasn't too traumatic!

hello trouble

That sounds really painful having one exam this Thursday and your last one just after Vetiver. I think all my exams at Uni were packed into about 2 weeks (or maybe it just felt like that and I've forgotten). I'm going to Rome later this week, which should be a nice break from working... :-)

That makes me really happy I don't have to do exams any more, but on the other hand, I'm not in Spain. Hope you're having fun, anyhow!

I'm not sure I feel sorry for you if you're going to Spain! I'd have liked to go and see Malcolm Middleton this weekend though, but I can't make it. I saw him last year and he was really good.

I think I might go and see Future Of The Left on Monday, but I'm not sure yet. I'm jealous you're going to ATP, and to see Nick Cave!! They should both be great!

I quite like destroyer, good hair is always a plus.

Hello! I had to delete my old account add me back purrrlease :) xx

Hi, good to hear from you again! I've been to a few gigs so far this year - they were all good except Islands which was in Stealth and therefore a bit rubbish. (Also, I like the idea that it might be possible to 'slightly disappear' :-).

;) hi..guess i am ok and doing better than you if you have an essay to write....i hope it goes well...the music should surely help....
