It really is a perfect piece of pop music. It's become a very personal song to me and my partner too and we'll play it at our wedding. I like the gentle optimism and the quirky backing vocal harmonies in the chorus. Shit really shines. You have cool taste by the way! (replying here cause it's been so long since I posted anything on this dead platform that I don't know if people even get notifications lol)

Nice to see someone else loves Something Big by Bacharach! Did you by any chance discover it from the Jim O'Rourke cover like I did? Lol

Happy 8th scrobbling anniversary today! ... How fast time passed by listening to your >53k scrobbles ... May you have many more such musical cake days ... What do you like most about lastfm at the moment, and what did you like back when you joined ? ... P.S. I dedicate this piece (e.g. available spotify/tidal) to your "birthday": ... genre: minimalistic/experimental -> from 6th album ('Maestro 2015 (violin meets piano)'): ... "4 plus 4 can be 8" (with 100 BPM) ... https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/4+plus+4+can+be+8 ... btw: here in Germany our chancellor Angela Merkel extended the protections against COVID-19 virus until end of June, again. And at your place, Douglas ?

My playcounts are due to a combination of being a tad obsessive and having a large amount of free time. I am in fact currently trying to learn to play the piano, which so far is proving extremely hard due to starting at a very late age and the fact I have a motor skill deficiency in the first place. Reading those comments was very interesting, there's a lovely kind of humour in the way those sentences are phrased. It's hard to explain and I understand why the english translation might not have reflected it as well, but it made me smile. I could glimpse a bit of that mindset from what I've heard from him so far, too.

if 'ErstLive 005' is too long (you're missing out!), try some Toshimaru Nakamura duos (for instance with Keith Rowe, Axel Dörner, Lucio Capece, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Tetuzi Akiyama, Ami Yoshida or John Butcher), or the album with English ('One Day'), which is awesome. And check out Cosmos (Sachiko M & Ami Yoshida duo). And some mid-period Taku Sugimoto in various combos ('The World Turned Upside Down', 'Les Hautes Solitudes', 'Ajar', etc.).
