i think promoting a band is fine but when you blatantly lie about things people have said about it, it makes me feel less inclined to listen to it. i checked out a track and it was pretty good, but if you're going to promote it in this manner, I don't really want to support it.

i agree with you, but I still think there should be some kind of seperate way of advertising music and bands. Perhaps is the "similar artists" were revamped? What if there were some smaller bands that were actually similar in style rather than similar in listeners were put in a slightly different section? Anyway, I'd advise to make sure that people know it's a joke when they see it posted on an artist page, and slow down a bit! You don't need to post on every page at once!

I'll probably give it a listen, I heard the first track of Splashdown on your bandcamp and quite liked it. I'll give you a proper verdict when I listen to the whole thing properly. Word to the wise though, what you're doing could be seen by some to be pretty obnoxious and annoying, though I know you're just trying to advertise your band with a sense of fun and humour about it. however, I genuinely thought MC Ride was featured on one of your tracks when I first saw your shout on Death Grips' page, and I was a little annoyed when I first saw it. Just be honest with what you're doing, tell people that you're making music that would appeal to the audiences of various other bands, though having said that, it could look a lot like spam... It's a real pity there isn't a proper way to advertise your own music on last.fm, this website has the perfect audience to work with as well.

yeah I don't think their rekkerds were ever very available in Europe back in the day..never encountered another fan here yet so I guess they don't as Finns are always so slow on anykinda uptake except perhaps in the case of musicbreathers like myself..I think I first read about them at allmusic in the early 00's and soon "Aruca" blew my mind.. By the way you should check out Dykehouse's Midrange album it's really quite Mediciney(/Medicinal?) in sound and feel AND quality too -
