Jerry Calliste Jr. pka 'Hashim' on Cutting Records in the 80's is a legendary Electro Hip Hop recording artists, songwriter and producer named.
Hashim's songwriting and producing career he released a total of 12 singles. Most notably is his 'Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)' or as most refer to it 'It's Time' which sold an estimated 2.5 million units worldwide. In the 80's, 90's and the new millennium Calliste Jr.’s hip hop electro-funk songs receive international underground cult-classic acclaim in the UK, NETH, GER, FR, JP and CAN.
Hashim's music appears on popular video games Sony Computer Entertainment of America’s NBA Shootout 2004 and the popular Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, the games TV commercial and Sony/ Epic Records soundtrack on the Wildstyle Station (for Grand Theft Auto Vice City).
His music also appears on 70+ music compilations, of which 30 or more of those licensing deals occurred since 2003. He appears on: Ministry of Sounds (U.K.), Universal Music TV (UK) Definitive Electro” (2xCD), Universal Music (UK) compilation, Virgin Records (UK), Streetsounds/ Streetwave Records (UK), Pianola Music - (FR), Virgin (UK), Polydor (GER), Kontor (GER) and many others. Since 1983 and 1985, is registered as a songwriter and music publisher member of ASCAP (also see Hashim Music group here on fb).
