So strange to see TPB in your monthly charts right after my first listen of their tunes in what, ten years? Some of their earliest shit is downright immortal. The Dust Storm still gives me the chills.

It's always nice to hear from ya my man! I'm doing just fine, this summer's been busy so far: went to Sri Lanka and Qazaqstan to visit my best friends who have left the country due to the current political situation. I was considering the same last year but plans didn't turn out as planned so I'm staying here. But as time passes it seems to be more and more necessary to reconsider this decision. Time will tell. What's up wit ya my friend?

Hey! What's crackin?? Too long, my man. Haha, too fucking long it seems. Glad to see yer still in action. I've been frequenting more recently for nostalgia but recently has piqued some interest for archival/research reasons. Anyhow, what the hell has been going on with ya? Probably way too much to go into on this platform, but perhaps that's what this s(h)ite needs to get the cobwebs kicked off and all that.

Yes siree, I hadn't heard Kelly Moran previously but definitely will be checking out her stuff. I loved how Prurient and her complimented each other. That dude is no stranger to exploration, reinvention, whatever, and always duly inspiring. Good to see a lot of old faves occupying your playlists of late mate \m/

i'm not up to much at the moment to be honest. still working like a dog and making boring days at the office. so planning on becoming a millionaire, quitting my job and just travel the world for xx years. when i run out of money i can always rob a bank. anyway, january & february are always the slow months. cold & wet and not much fun outdoors here. trying to pick up those activities again this month but as of now the weather is still shit. really hope spring is coming soon. for the rest i'm trying to plan my 2017 trips. Scotland and Lappland it'll be most likely. and yes, trying to get away from society those weeks haha. how's living in San Antonio?

solitude is what i'm going for in Lappland. it'll be north of the polar circle stuff. 2 weeks walking the Kungsleden trail from Abisko to Kvikkjokk, the remainder days i'll be spending in the Lofoten in Norway. i'm a mountain enthousiast, which kinda makes me living in the flatlands that is the Netherlands (hence the name I s'pose) sometimes a bit of a pain.

King Dude yeah, i kinda forgot about him until i saw him perform this srping, and that was pretty damn entertaining. dude got jokes and charisma. afterwards i listened to his last album which was pretty shite, but his earlier stuff like Burning Daylight is just fine. Barbara Anne and Jesus in the Courtyard are great tracks. i also like it that the neofolk vets gets their suspenders all tightened by this kind of stuff. that scene is as stagnant and conservative as it can get. Obnox: dude is on the money, not all of his albums are consistently strong throughout, but you gotta love his artist's ethics. the guy is making music primarily because he loves it. most everything else is a bonus.

Aww I appreciate that! I sometimes second-guess how I approach writing about shows because I like to be more of an observer than a reviewer/critic (because I think people should go to shows to enjoy themselves). Wish you could've seen 'em! Elvis Depressedly is actually going back on tour and I'm sure Mitski will come back eventually too. ^_^ I used to frequently drive to Austin and OKC for shows back when I wasn't freelancing (a.k.a. steady job) but nowadays I'm just in Dallas/Denton. You should totally start a blog if you're interested! I've always been curious about the music scene in other parts of TX and would definitely follow. :)
