Yeah for sure. I really, REALLY loved Devotion the first time I heard it in 2012 and I still enjoyed revisiting that record so I was hoping for a similar experience this time around but sadly it just doesn't come close to what came before. In my opinion, "Pieces" is one of the worst songs she's ever done. It's like a watered down Adele track. Big ol' meh.

Okay, thanks! That's still helpful, since I only listened to the song with Solange, which I only halfway liked, though there's not one Solange song that I've ever liked on the first listen.:) Haha, yeah, also Toro y Moi is great, so I'm certain it may be good. And also, I'm really enjoying a good deal of Nabuma Rubberband, and they're coming to a city about 3 hours away from me. I'm definitely going to go to see them or Alabama Shakes at that venue, but just have to decide which one is more important to me. :) I'll keep in mind your suggestion in deciding, so thanks!

I like the latter two of those plus Feel of Love, Pressure, and See Right Through a lot. It is pretty solid throughout though.

LOL. It's not as if "Musical Eclecticism" is the goal of all goals in life. I took that eclectic test so long ago I'm not sure I even would score as high now, to be honest.

I have to thank my dad for the eclecticism in my musical tastes. He raised me on everything from Pete Seeger to Joy Division to Handel to Charles Mingus to Run DMC to Emmylou Harris. We still have great arguments on the merits of current artists. And I don't know how I got so many friends--I get a half dozen or so requests a day and don't see any reason not to accept them.
