Did you get the chance to listen some of the albums you mentionned? Would appreciate your feedback. Grin is an amazing album btw. Cheers

Not yet! But will do eventually, there is just so much music to check out, discover and then to re-listen.. :) I just discovered Grin, I have loved Mental Vortex for a long time, but this one is better! You seem to prefer R.I.P. though?

Oh no, you lost 11 years worth of scrobbles? Wish they incorporated Discogs scrobbling from the start, 2007-2019 is all computer scrobbles for me, but of course I listened to music from many other sources as well.

Very nice, hope you'll like it! My previous account (dragonuts), active from 2007 up to 2016, is still available so I only lost the first two years.

Certainly the Bush-trilogy. I think "The Last Sucker" was as close to a perfect farewell album you could get. The post reunion albums have been anything from bland to terrible.

Thanks for your rundown. I should check out that trilogy. The best Ministry for me is the three albums In Case You Didn't Feel, With Sympathy and Psalm 69. What do you think about With Sympathy?

You can always peak a bit at my plays, or just write. I LOVE Ministry, always up for nerding that band. And speaking of love, I absolutely adore "With Sympathy". Fantastic album!! :D "In Case..." is the greatest title for a live album, it always makes me chuckle. I'd certainly recommend also checking out the "Early Trax" and the "Trax! Box". I found a lot of great stuff last year on the latter.

Good question, haven't gotten on top of the year just yet tbh. My schizophrenic list of contenders for albums is: Tool - Fear Inoculum (I include this because I waited for the vinyl before I really listened to it) , Blood Incantation - Timewave Zero, Huerco S. - Plonk, Jaubi - Nafs At Peace, Tangerine Dream - Raum, Anthony Naples - Chameleon, Deathhammer - Electric Warfare, Darkthrone - Astral Fortress

Also some albums came late in 2021 so they are 2022 albums for me that should be considered: Order - The Gospel, Mas Aya - Mascaras, Cynic - Ascension Codes, Portal - Hagbulbia (intense noise!) and Mānbryne - Heilsweg: O Udręce Ciała I Tułaczce Duszy

Ascension Codes was a pleasant surprise, probably one of my most listened albums last year (or this year?). I didn't even know Portal released another album in 2021, definitely need to check that one out

I liked Fear Inoculum on release but after a few attempts of coming back to it I think I'd rank it last in their discography. 7empest is still pretty cool though. Timewave Zero was too big of a genre shift for me, I'm not really into that stuff.

Will get back to you on the songs and a final album list. What does your list look like?

tbh I don't really keep a list other than the "Notable metal releases" chart I make every year (https://rateyourmusic.com/list/syconbones/notable-metal-releases-2022/) I wouldn't say I love everything on it but there's some really cool shit on there. Non-metal releases I liked: Clemens Kuratle - Lumumba, Black Midi - Hellfire, Sirom - The Liquified Throne of Simplicity, Vaura - Vista of Deviant Anatomies

Very obscure that RYM list! I know of three bands on it. Must agree with Sigh. One of the best albums this year for sure.

Do you know Grand Magus? Their second is a total doom blow, but this fourth one for me is just how a Tony Martin Sabbath would be like nowadays! (Iron Will, listening for the first time)

Cool. Thanks for the tips. I think the second album seems to be more fitting for me, but I will give it some more listens.

actually i like all albums, all of them have sui generis gimmicks as you may know. except for the first, its just too generic hard rock for me.

Hehe, god analogi. Det gjorde skikkeleg godt kaste opp driten... Best aa ikkje la seg forureine med korkje daarleg musikk eller mat sjoelv om det kan vere vanskeleg aa unngaa... I dag har eg forresten skikkeleg gangsperre. Vog sekken min no paa Incheon, saa drassa paa 15 kg opp og ned pluss to kilo vatn og glas. Det er eg litt stolt av ;)

Everyone should have listened to Prong once in his lifetime. Same goes for Ministry, of course.

Hey fella. Not really sure. I think I expected something other than strait up Syrian folk singer, the type of stuff I heard all the time in Taxi's when I was there! If thats what you want, you cant go wrong.
