It's been a great month for music so far (even if some of those releases have been a little... well, sub-par...), but my god, today is just incredible: The Magnetic Fields, Four Tet, Beach House, Fucked Up, AND Los Campesinos! Of them all, I've only listened to about half of Beach House so far - fantastic.

Hi, if you enjoy "Wonderwall" by Oasis then you are probably going to like Will Black – a Canadian rock singer. Please check out the rockin’ title track “Dancing With The Dead” off my premier album. Thanks for listening! Peace ;) Will http://www.last.fm/music/Will+Black/_/Dancing+With+The+Dead

No, it's all through iTunes. Check out their Best of 2008 thing, that's got a lot of good ones. A list (formatting will probably suck so I'll capitalize titles): -THE MOTH - a bunch of stories told in first person, usually very entertaining; -STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW - crazy, interesting facts about all kinds of junk; -just about anything by NPR (especially ALL SONGS CONSIDERED, which is basically a recap of recent music; the absolute best part: there's a live video version of the podcast which has full fucking concerts by acts like Sleater-mothafuckin'-Kinney, The Walkmen, The Fiery Furnaces, etc.); and THIS AMERICAN LIFE - I shouldn't have to explain this one, it's very good. Anyway, yeah, they're all on iTunes, and they're all free.

Jesus god, that's sad. Okay, here's the deal, today (and I say this from the weird mid-point between Sunday and Monday, because both count) is an amazing day: --Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" ACTUALLY came out and from what I've heard it's not the worst record ever made; --Also out today - a new Coldplay EP, The Killers' "Day and Age", and Kanye West's "808s and Heartbreak". Holy shit, right? Well, that's more me than you, but still, huge holiday releases like this haven't occurred since the days of The Beatles. --Finally, Anathallo. Listen. Now. Don't ask, just do it. Start with "Noni's Field" and "Italo". Trust me. Annnnnd BREAK!

Also, I'm really quite happy with both the new My Morning Jacket and Fleet Foxes records. Fleet Foxes are more of a rootsy, mellow MMJ, which is great because the new MMJ is really experimental and unlike their previous work. It's basically a Super Furry Animals record as filtered through the dirty south. I'm actually waiting on that one to take hold as well, because at this point I'm still trying to wrap my head around most of it.

You know, I've really only listened to it a few times and then as sort of background music while doing homework. It's not bad, but I think I need to give it a bit more attention before I can really make any sort of statement on it. It does seem, though, that the music I've listened to the most this year has come from Sub Pop's rosters, so I have no doubt this one will take hold.
