No date set for the viva yet, but most likely in about a months time I feel... did the labwork itself in London at UCL and really enjoyed my time living in the capital. Can't wait to move back there in fact, so have provisionally accepted a job to begin in Sept. Politically, I always felt a bit out of my depth in the discussions on the Massive Attack forums, and I think I learnt a lot more from the people contributing to discussion than piping in with a worthy opinion of my own! A quarter-life crisis, I do hope things have begun to look up for you - again, my own woes in life seem to be rather cyclic so I do feel like I come and go between good and bad periods. Like you, on the whole, things seem good

I think my departure was rather more gradual than I'd meant it to be - I just found that I had less and less time, and the topics to come up on the forum ended up being quite cyclic - in the end, I am not sure many people would have noticed me leave! Was fun while it lasted though. I do still go on occasionally, but more to check what is going on rather than contribute... Still in touch with a couple of the guys on facebook - Jeff and Pee spring to mind... Other than that life is good, about to submit my PhD thesis in Chemistry - words I never thought I'd hear myself say! How are things on your end?

When I played it it just seemed to match for Everything Everything and play a load of indie music I wasn't interested in with the occasional electro song. Just played Two Tribes for my 14,000th track YEAH

Hey :) Things are good here, three months into a full-time php developer job. I need to get more music here at work, although it does mean plenty of last.fm radio to keep me amused. I had seen the Meltdown stuff, looks good but I'm still paying off last year's extravagance. Perhaps just the one festival this year... :(

Hello ! I see you're a Massive Attack fan... :) Radiohead launched a remix contest of their latest single Nude. I've made a Bristol remix of it (home town of Portishead, Massive Attack, Tricky, etc... well you probably know that) You can listen to it here : www.radioheadremix.com/remix/?id=1307 Hope you like it, and don't forget to vote.. support the Bristol sound ! :) Thanks !

Yup, if it can't get to the Lfm server it'll happily buffer it up until it can. I'm not sure if the site goes back and corrects old stats if you submit stuff after it's worked out the week's stats though... I seem to remember some staff member claiming it did, but I don't think it does.

I wasn't sure what to expect from James Lavelle; I'd assumed the evening would be something like a Shadow gig but wasn't sure. He ended up playing a bit of everything, breaks, house, rave, dubstep. Lots of fun. We had a load of people there although numbers did drop as we headed to 4am. I danced hard, would recommend A++

Will do :) It's more likely than you might think; my lot tend to just buy a bunch of tickets and get people to come along. Thanks to a beer festival in Reading, I ended up with five spare tickets for the Cinematic Orchestra. This week I'm doing some webdev for one of London's many digital media companies. How did the 'As for the stalker-friendly websites' sentence end?

Really? Where are you living now? Somewhere without music, judging by your lack of gigs lately. Or has there been too much to do with the new house (and language?)? I'm well thanks, having to get used to work again after a summer of festivals and gigs. As to those stalker-friendly websites, Facebook's the only one I use.
