i was having a bit more of a think about the aussie scram scene in general since you mentioned it... really seemed to die in the arse between 2012 to 2015ish. and then evolved/ morphed into these really shitty, soppy earnest bands like the smith street band and camp cope etc. nothing wrong with earnest music but most of them were just gay, preachy nonsense

nup they still exist I think. smith street band were never that good to me, I never got the point of black midi, it seems like they are trying to be noisey like “whores.” melvins or fudge tunnel, and they fail, they don’t really have any heavy songs past schlagenheim, which feels like a cheap copy of filth by the swans to me.

I really do feel destined to be the one in charge if I was to start a band and that was no-brainer to me. I’m going to start joining some local Facebook groups and hunt for people this year hopefully who would share a similar vision and yes I think personality and more inherent aspects matter a lot too with who I want to work with.
