Love to see U2 going off in different directions again. This song holds up after repeat listens.

This is musically stunning when you listen to it closely...I wish they had taken the Fez part further, but Being Born has a wonderful sound, especially at "Lights.../Flash Past.../Like mem..../ories..."

@ Amaru_Cheetox...this isnt exactly "new ground" for U2, they have done this kind of thing in the past (80s and 90s). I love this track too but as far as the band not being afraid to tread new ground...thats exactly what they were on the last two records before this one, ATYCLB and HTDAAB...those records are sheer, unadulterated fear of experimentation and playing it safe, terrible.

Oh this is where all the shouts are at - But yes, as i was saying, shows that U2 aren't afraid to tread new ground, and they do it without falter - one of my favourites off the new album.

I love this, and it should be up there at the top tunes played on this album, one of the best tracks on it for sure.

this is the only track i really like in the whole album and i'm quite familiar with all the u2 work. it's kind of sad to see them drowning slowly after "pop". but this song is something, something new. i still have a small faith in them, listening to this.

Now *this* is a track that actually excites me... the U2 that pushes boundaries. I love what I'm hearing here!

It stands for Fetal Embryonic Zygote, of course. (lol) (I'm kidding. I just made that up. But it "sounds" good anyway). And as for you people who say it's FEZ morocco, how self-important can y'all get?! You're worse than Bono, even!. (again, kidding!). Anyway, incredible song, I can't give this album enough praise, really. I love it. As of today: Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree tie for #1 from the band, this album comes next. ...Tomorrow...(??)

It's tagged as this on Spotify, I expect that's where a sizable portion of the listenings are coming from! I just found myself here after clicking the auto-correct button on my profile after listening to the album on Spotify.

This song blows my mind and I'm so happy that U2 is still capable of creating music like this.

I think it's wonderful in every way, and probably one of the best songs of the entire 2000s, possibly since Pop and maybe even Original Soundtracks, or even Zooropa. The sounds at the beginning of what sounds like a baby inside a womb could hear and the vocals akin to 'A Different Kind of Blue' from Original Soundtracks makes this possibly the most experimental song on the entire album. It's a pity it's not longer - this could have easily been a ten-minute track. Because it's such a good and unusual track, I give it 10/10. It is one song U2 should be proud of, and I'm glad it was a last minute decision to include it, because I'm not sure whether Tripoli, Every Breaking Wave or Winter would stand up to it (not that I've heard them).
