In just its second year, its remarkable how distinguished a prospect Wrecking Ball Festival looks. With a lineup of over 60 artists certain to whet the appetite of even the most discerning punk rock scene elitist, the event joins the dots between early days punk/hardcore, goth-tinged indie rock, emo, metal and more.
Keen to add the growing punk/emo/whatever revival, Wrecking Ball last year played host to the long-awaited reunion by scene darlings Thrice and the first show in Atlanta in 18 years by Descendents. This year they bring us reunion shows by Piebald and Thursday as well as everything that is fresh and exciting about the scene right now in the form of Deafheaven (pictured above), Diet Cig, Diarrhea Planet and Joyce Manor.
