The Stranglers: Punk Icons with a Lasting Legacy
Formed in 1974, The Stranglers’ no-nonsense attitude and unparalleled musicianship earned them a place as one of the most influential bands of the punk era. Their first three albums (Rattus Norvegicus, No More Heroes, and Black and White) were released within just 13 months, featuring iconic hits like “Peaches,” “No More Heroes,” and “Walk On By.” Their chart success includes 24 UK Top 40 singles and 19 Top 40 albums across six decades.
Tracks such as “Golden Brown,” “Always the Sun,” and “Strange Little Girl” further cemented their reputation for blending melodic brilliance with dark aggression and cool sophistication. In 2019, their 19th studio album, Dark Matters, reached No. 4 in the UK charts, showcasing their innovative sound and ongoing creativity.
Approaching their 50th anniversary in 2024, The Stranglers remain a testament to enduring talent and influence. Their ability to evolve while maintaining their distinctive style continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
The Warwick Sessions 2025
AEG Presents is thrilled to announce The Warwick Sessions 2025, featuring punk rock legends The Stranglers, pop icons Will Young & Beverley Knight, Manchester’s emotive rock band Elbow, and multi-Grammy-winning Train. From Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July, St Nicholas’ Park, near Warwick Castle, will host this incredible line-up with more acts to be revealed.
