yeah altho it released after the anime (which isnt normal lol), the anime is better cuz the complete anarchy of the show + the grungy soundtrack meshes so well imo! the guy is Gintoki from Gintama! one of the funniest anime ive ever seen

outside of everything The Strokes, Interpol and AM released I love all the Rakes albums, early KOL and Libertines have that juice to them for sure, idk a friendly fires song off the top so ill check them out :D

Alpha Games is cringe fun, and im probably there for their fun/dumb stuff than most people 🤣. that's why i think Acting Out and 3x3 are my favs, i like how he sings those two in particular. he sort of rolls his voice around in Acting Out to make it more sassy. in 3x3 he just belts it which suits the 'cult yelling at you' theme you know the other one we match on is Cage the Elephant but they really fell off on their last album >_<

I liked those two songs! acting out is great, didn't expect that at all, so thanks for the rec! On Cage the Elephant, that last album did nothing for me, I listened to it once or twice and never again, not that it's bad, but feels a bit boring? nothing really stood out for me. If I want to listen to CtE, I much prefer going back to Thank You Happy Birthday, Melophobia or even Social Cues, which many people didn't like for some reason but I love it. What are your thoughts on it?

yea the last album was really boring, felt almost like AI at that point. I like Social Cues too :D especially the front half. i think Black Madonna is my fav they've ever done, the way the intro slow mos in is fun. the album cover freaks me out tho 😂

Squid is a British band out of the Windmill scene (think BCNR and Black Midi) with an experimental/post/art-punk/rock sound. Their latest album Cowards is probably my AOTY so far, I really like the sound and the lyrics. Definitely not as energetic as EE or Foals, but if you like Radiohead and their ilk I would definitely recommend them!

I've heard them a tiny bit and their lyrics in general are really good. 'Feet' is the one I like the most as it's a bit more upbeat, but i like their spooky vibe. dead man's bones are kinda similar :-)
