Raj Devarajan grew up in India with a clear direction and an early commitment to medicine. At fifteen, he entered Madras Medical College, beginning medical school while many students were still considering their plans. That early start showed the focus that would continue throughout his professional life. After graduating from medical school, he moved to the US for advanced training.
