No, Clapton wasn't with them, but the band was tight and excellent. The concert was at a recreation center. Concrete floor and no chairs. It didn't matter, we boogied all night. we used Bonnie's ballads to catch our breath and indulge in our fantasies ;-) It seemed like they played for hours.

One of the perks of being a ..ah.. little older. ;-) They were totally amazing!! It was the day Hendrix died. They dedicated the concert to him and tore it up!! I remember the keyboards and sax guys splitting a bottle of Jack Daniels and never missing a note. They both cut some good sides after they split up, but they were dynamite together.

Seems like we have a lot of music in common as well as several excellent friends.

Some Willie Nile in the DB. He might be my personal best undiscovered artist of all-time. The Boss loves him. Once you listen you will know why!

Indeed. The band is sending me a free EP. :) On Facebook, Richard (the lead singer) was asking people if they knew of any mp3s of Alex Chilton interviews. I found several interviews on youtube and turned them into mp3s because I'm awesome (actually, it was pretty easy). I sent the links to Richard and he's all, "Awesome. Want a free EP once it comes out?" And I'm all, "Hell yes I do!" Good story, huh?

Got the Amos. I've had time to poke around today. That Davy Knowles allbum in the DB is outstanding as well, especially if you classic rock/blues.

No prob. Just put the new John Carter Cash up for ya. "No Depression" calls it 'spectacular'...can't say I disagree. Quite a listening treat.
