or remembering her in a good light. still, its a great song. i would appreciate some help in my interpretation though. "over my dead body" is drake at his best lyrically, the dim-sum (spelling?) line and the jealousy line are both incredible. motto, headlines, the real her---all solid, none of them great though, in my own humble opinion. practice is good too, haven't given it enough listens probably. finally though, marvins room is probably my favorite. "just throw up while i hold your hair back...." blew my mind when i heard it this summer. he set the one for Take Care with this single over the summer. he really establishes the realist aesthetic that has made take care, drake in certain instances over his career, so unique. theres a scary sense of being able to identify with all of this stuff.....thoughts, agree? disagree?

album i could care less about. "over" is solid but by the time the album dropped i'd heard it too much. so i guess there are only six songs i really love, but those six literally carried my summer. i loved it because drake suggested some weariness, vulnerability, and deep skepticism of his own lifestyle: "don't be fooled by the money im still just young and unlucky/ im surprised you couldn't tell". or in "light up" he makes it sound like he's not thrilled to have been "up for 4 days" straight. the truth is, im still absorbing "take care" and i probably need another couple months worth of listens before i develop the same kind of feelings for its songs. that being said, i already love "we'll be fine" even if i secretly wished he had a rap verse after the harmonica solo to close the song. i also love "look what you've done", the piano makes the song and totally strengthens the nostalgic, memoir-ish theme. "Shot for me" is sooooo good but i can't tell whether he's bashing his ex

i'd agree, most days of the week. but it's very close so i'll go through each album. Thank Me Later has "fireworks" appeals to me probably because of his allusion to his parents' divorce, and for other reasons, like the summertime feel, which happened to be when i first heard it so it holds some sentimental value. "karaoke" is the same thing; "warm nights and cold patron". it takes me back to my senior summer. "the resistance" is probably the most personally substantive of his these songs though. he says "i'm bout to roll me up a blunt with my list of regrets, burn it all, burn it all, i'm starting it fresh, cuz half the time i got it right i probably guessed...i just need some closure and no telling back for me, im in it till its over". "light up" might be my favorite song on the album, jay-z has an incredible verse. "show me a good time" is tough, probably the catchiest most pop-like song on the album. and finally "up all night" is dope and nicki kills it. the rest of the...

Agreed. "The Morning" is the hottest track off House of Balloons. "Drinkin' Alize with our cereal for breakfast" or "only place you'll find baseheads and hot women". Really weeknd? Who are you? Just lifestyles damn lol. Drake's verse on "The Zone" is good, but you're right, Thursday was essentially a flop and he needs a new direction. This dreamy R&B shit is getting played out.
