Hey, thanks for dropping by :) Yeah, it's weird but I haven't been a huge fan of Steven Wilson's music outside of Porcupine Tree (except if you count the Opeth albums he produced)--As you can see I LOVE him in Porcupine Tree though, he's brilliant!

Yep, I've heard Opeth, and I've "tried" to like them - I just found them a tad dull, to be honest :)

What! I didn't reply to your last shout? Anyway, I downloaded the Uncle Acid album but you know, laziness :/ aah! totally love those jazz vibes in Fisheye, so good. (some parts remind me of super Mario bros though, lol). New discoveries? well yes, but mostly garage rock, post-punk and synth pop. Also, there's a Swedish hard rock band called Graveyard, their music is insanely good if you're into (quality) hard/blues rock with a psychedelic twist.

Yup, I've returned there a few days ago and picked up Quadrophenia by The Who and an out of print Bass Communion release (Bass Communion II & III). Plus there was a Christmas sale going on and I got a 30% discount. Yup, I gingerly browsed through the vinyl this time even though I don't own a player (I would like to start a vinyl collection though) and found some pretty rare classics which look like they are first pressings - not obscure but definitely great in their "historical merit". Yeah I actually ordered a Vashti Bunyan CD through that service and but it does take a little long for it to arrive though. Still, a generally nice touch and a wonderful shop with a very friendly owner!

That's cool :) Yup, I know of that store and I've been there several times. Interesting collection of classics and some good vinyl as well. However, the times when I visited the shop was when metal was still my main musical interest, which is not quite the case nowadays. I think I recall seeing a good stock of other genres as well but given my musical interest at that time, I didn't quite browse them too thoroughly - but I will do so in the near future. It's a pity that it's located at such an out of place location. Nice meeting you! Hope you're enjoying Singapore!

Indeed. I'm pretty sure they'll be worshiping Tool if they came out in the 60s and played progressive rock, But as you said, it doesn't really matter. Sorry for being late, I'm really busy with school right now and haven't got the time to do anything at all :/ btw... have you listened to the new Tom Waits' songs?

It has indeed! :D I listened to it couple of times in the Fibonacci order, it was mind-blowing! everything seemed to be connected somehow. Why musicians have to be so great again? I need to listen to it more to be honest, gonna check out the other Tool albums as well. They seem like an interesting band, despite what most of the music elitists say.

Yeah I've been to Eckerö. It's in Åland which is under the control of Finland, which is quite weird as the main language there is Swedish :P. It's a great place tho.

Of course I love Portishead! I've been digging trip-hop a lot lately, DJ Shadow, Portishead and Massive Attack especially. I'd love to see Portishead live but I doubt they'll come to Finland :d. Do you have relatives or something here in Finland or did your parents just randomly decide to go to Finland? And what a broad taste you have, amazing charts.

Oh God, I have to re-listen to it in the a Fibonacci sequence, I can already imagine my face then. You'd never expect that though, and now I have massive respect for the band members as musicians. indeed, I've never been so keen for listening to an album before. It'll probably grow on me after listening to it knowing what is it for, and maybe I'll get my "holy gift". It's fine, always great to read such stuff. Music is never so good without knowing and reading more and more about it.. you know.

I see, there stories behind the songs and lyrics are interesting as well. I'll give it few more listens, think I'm starting to "get it". oh and the "supposedly named in combination with the words "Vastus lateralis", a human leg muscle and lateral thinking" part is pretty interesting.

http://myanimelist.net/profile/makingmusic476 I enjoyed NGE, but I couldn't quite understand some of Shinji's actions throughout the show, and the psychobabble over the last few episodes annoyed me more than anything else. However, I loved the world they had constructed, and I'm a big fan of Rei, Misato, and Kaji.

BTW what funkadelic albums do you have? "Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On" and "Let's Take It To The Stage" are essential albums to have. So dark, funky and beautiful all at the same time.

Before I go on about myself.... Im glad to hear you are taking the proepr steps to get your life together, that is truly amazing to hear! :) I am very thrilled to hear that things are looking up for you as well. Id love to go out to the west coast one of these days but the east coast still has a lot to offer me. But im sure you'll be able to beat whatever ales you, the fact you are taking the appropriate steps before it heightens into something uncontrollable is a great start :D and im glad you enjoy my page so much haha I listen to so much music...lately i have been listening to a lot of late 60's and70's psychedelic bands like Iron Claw, May Blitz, Zephyr, all that good stuff...a lot of it was so heavy for its time and so underrated. As for me, Im doing pretty good. Got a lot of stuff going on with the metal band I play in (we were int he studio not too long ago) and I even got casted in a local horror movie ;D and I have my health so I cant complain. Great hearing from you man :)
