hey bruvs, i forgot to tell you: switchfoot, underoath, united live and other bands are going to be performing at the parachute music festival which is happening 15 mins from my house. it's on 29 Jan - 1 Feb. Costs $172 for the 3 days but you'd have free accommodation at my house. you should totally do it seeing as three bands from your top 8 are playing :)

but maybe i should give it a go. although i don't think my music knowledge of history (ie. bands that pioneered some of these genres) would cut it amongst the big boys. I want to learn guitar over here. it'd be mad. then i can play all my favourite songs. and then write some. wee!

At the Bottom is from their new album (Brand New this is)! i bought it either on itunes or maybe even bandit.fm (we get $20 free credit there every month woo). Dude i was so jealous of the RK action at youth alive. the one time they have a good band and i'm out of the country. so so dumb. i've heard they're not that great live anyway. Job hunting is going pretty slowly, not too many opportunities here going for the multitude of graphic designers. I think I may have to initiate some projects or whatever to get things off the ground, while working some crappy menial job. Doesn't bother me too much, it'd be good to have money to do things with! Weather is good here too, been sunny most days coming into spring, but most days start off kinda misty/foggy still. and when it gets to like 22 it feels hotter cos it's a lot more humid here - the city is sorta built on a swamp. crazy i know. nah i've never written any reviews for ap.net. i have some very short reviews on my blog!

Good thinking with ATAL, i haven't listened to it that much, i've been listening to heaps of mew and sufjan stevens. new mew album is sick nuts. not sure if it'll be your cup of tea but maybe you should try this particular brand of tea? hehe nice work bumping into stephen in starbucks. many women would be jealous! was jo there as well? I reckon you'd like paper route. their album has some really solid songs on it, some not so much but yeah quite good. a little bit like the new mute math album. i listened to saosin's on myspace and thought it was pretty disappointing. it's getting pretty badly panned on absolutepunk. they gave it 60 something percent which means it's ok to listen to but really average. kid cudi's album is cool. pretty mellow hip hop which i don't mind. met a lot of ppl ( i mean 3 haha) here who like jimmy, copeland, sufjan and stuff so that's good! i told one dude that i saw copeland live and he was rather envious.

Boards of Canada are a trippy electronic outfit that I first found out about through Salad Fingers (they did the music in the background). So I downloaded a few of their tracks and then bought three of their albums. I like em a lot :)

yeha they're all good songs! i like (as well as all the ones you've listed) the greatest lie, kicking your crosses down, travel hymn, your friends are gone. one letting go is definitely a standout. for once, a good title tracks haha. didn't listen to em much last week, in a different mood for them atm! missing you bro

haha man that pic for you got it bad by usher is hilarious. circa is really good. it takes a bit of mental effort to try and understand what the songs are about, and i probably have only my own perspective on it but it's worth it. some songs are a bit filler but there is definitely some gold in there too :) see ya dougsly
