SUPER!! found you thru the magnetic fields song "summer lies"

New Sun Kil Moon! http://stereogum.com/357602/sun-kil-moon-australian-winter-stereogum-premiere/mp3s/

was great eh? :) though she didn't two of my most fav songs :(

got me a ticket to laura marling. thanks for the heads up!

Happy LOW show day! Passing along impressions especially of potential new material would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy

I was in the know about the great new RGC thanks and am hoping to catch them at the Drake as I have never seen Alan minus Mimi. What I really wish though is that I was seeing LOW in January, lucky you!!! Cheers

I just revisited Mumford and Sons and I now wholeheartedly agree with you! Holy awesome. Love it love it. It's getting me through the last week of my semester just fine.. Thanks!

How do you feel about this new Mumford and Sons group? I listened to the album this evening and found myself thinking hmm sounds a lot like Fleet Foxes. Catchy, but I think my mind wandered a bit too much. Maybe I should give it another listen?

"Stolen Property' is one of the most perfect song ever in my opinion. But do try to get hold of 'Calenture'. There are some really amazing songs on that as well.

Well, better late than never : ) I don't usually recommend The Triffids to anyone unless I really think they might like them, because they're rather special to me..... so what got you into them finally? Was it a specific track?

Here's hoping the Gremlins pacemakers hold up tonight. :) Enjoy the show!

Where did you find the GLS LOW cover? I saw them close a show with Two Step and if you can believe it I think they played it even slower.:)

check the UKK Laura Marling thread if you haven't found No Hope in the Air yet.

i saw you talking about the new shugo tokumaru album on his artist page. i can't find it anywhere! do you think you could send it to me? thanks!

I was looking for the Craig Ferguson video on youtube yesterday, but it hadn't been posted yet. Her album's definitely in my top 3 so far this year. I really like the TVOTR and Department of Eagles albums. I haven't heard the Sun Kill Moon album, I should check that out.

I hope you didn't forget your earplugs last night. :)

I guess I was mistaken the War On Drugs are not opening for the New Year, chromewaves reports it is Angela Desveaux. Hope you like the Twin Cats.

You might like The Triffids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrn-EQvi3Zk&feature=related and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6dVO_z994I&feature=related

hey, pernice brothers are wonderful! and your charts are great!

Yeah, everything went well, couldn't have asked for nicer weather on Sat/Sun. I wish I had been more familiar with the National beyond Boxer. Even without knowing all of the songs, I think they had the set of the weekend. Seeing Okkervil River in a small room was perfect too.

Tracks 1, 4, 7, 12 are reminiscent of Elliot Smith for me They've tagged him as a 'genius' y'know...

Nice T-shirt! In case you weren’t already in the know, Amazon.ca has Low: You May Need a Murderer listed available June 3.

I snaggeed a MBV ticket as well and now have reason to look forward to the fall! Never been to the Ricoh, hope it is worthy.

Yup. Stoked about the Wilco show tonight. How is Retribution Gospel Choir?

I really don't know what to think yet about the new Wolf Parade. If I'm remembering correctly, it took me a little while to get into Apologies. I really like the Grey Estates, it's probably the most immediate song on the album.

How could anyone be sad listening to Mark Kozelek? :)

Hurray for Canada Post! I love it all, although I’m a bit unsure of the Cruiser mix. REX’s C is indeed a masterpiece!

I guess you were not so lucky. I promise you it is worth the wait!

Cat Power's Jukebox melts like sweet honey butter on ma' toast...

Luckily it's one of those games where you can just play for 15 mins or so at a time per level. Pretty fun.

Great new avatar!

For the first half of the concert I was thinking that they're way better live than people make them out to be, I think there was a bit of a lull after Tiny Cities, but overall I enjoyed it. You have my permission to tell me to move over next time :p

I was checking out your Modest Mouse videos on youtube (came across them when searching modest mouse winnipeg). It's my head that's blocking your view of Johnny Marr. Not enough people yelled fakes (yet almost the entire crowd sang along to Black Cadillacs?)

great Hayden Lyric excerpt as user description. and our south park characters look almost the same. at least we both have sadcore bands on our shirts. www.myspace.com/kernkernkern - umm...you're one of my neighbours - that's why I noticed. I'm drunk. hello.

Haha, it's funny you would say it's rockier than you were expecting, as I was thinking it was mellower than I was expecting! I was waiting for mine too, but it still hasn't come, so I had to go looking... Spend $80 on something and you don't get it in time, weak! Beautiful album though, can't wait to get much more acquainted with it.

We're listening to the same thing. I imagine everyone on this site will be listening to this tomorrow, haha.

Hmm. Looks like someone's been listening to their stuff while I was away...

I saw the tour dates today, very excited (even though I know it's just going to be new songs). The concert schedule as a whole is crazy, which makes it tough living 2 hours away (close, but not close enough to come in once a week, especially when it could snow). Modest Mouse is a must see for me though.

I just bought Marissa Nadler's album. Love it!! Will be checking out the KEXP podcast if I can. Recruited two more fans for her, too. Thanks!

At least they (Ted Leo/Rx) should have a few shows under their belt with whoever is the new bassist by the time they get to Winnipeg as well as being somewhat used to having band members move in and out.

Interesting song with Vanderslice whom I admire as well. She's eclectic and talented... will see some more unique music from her for sure. Thanks!

I saw them years back (it was right before BSB was released) open for The Decemberists. I'd only heard 2 or 3 of their songs before, they were great but I didn't know them at all. I've been dying to see them again now that I'm familiar with all the material and a fan.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it will have the long term appeal and lasting power that BSB had, but I'm still extremely happy with Stage Names. It's definitely one of my favorite albums so far this year. They just added a show here for September as well!

Extremely rocking. Each song was much longer and guitar filled than on the albums. Lots of fun.

Hey! Thanks for that link. Have you listened to Shearwater yet? I'm enjoying Palo Santo-- a more chilled out version of Okkervil River...

Very curious on how you got to listen to Arcade Fire live at Massey...

The New Pornographers show hasn't been officially announced yet, has it? I'm hoping Dan and Neko will also be there, otherwise I might pass.

You'll be even more impressed when you hear the Yo La/Fiery Furnaces, Peter Bjorn and John/Apostle of Hustle, and Calexico shows are all free! I nearly passed out when I found out, I was ready to pay for them all.

Hi!
