i tend to prefer his '70s albums so I'd say Tropical Dandy then Philharmony > Pacific > SFX > Paradise View > Cochin Moon > Paraiso. His mix of laidback-pop (almost Kevin Ayers-like), exotica & synth-pop is so unique

I wouldn't be able to explain why, but I have never been enthralled by YMO or Sakamato' solo albums… on the other hand I like H. Hosono discography!
