Are you serious? I like it a bit hotter, not too hot though, something in between 20 - 25 degrees Celsius is perfect, that's mostly the case here in summer. I'm not a winter person, I prefer spring, when the first beautiful days are still a promise of the summer to come. Unfortunately I'll have to wait 2 more months, cause it's still winter here. Why don't you move to Iowa, or somewhere else in the midwest? Apparently it was -40 degrees Celsius yesterday, nice and cool :p. I see you're a big Metric fan, I've only got their latest album (twilight galaxy is my fav song), are the others worth listening?

how can you forget a Beach House show, shame on you! anyway, they're great performers, just a magical atmosphere they create. I saw them last year in february, and I enjoyed every second. Crystal Castles must be great as well, just jumping around and completely lose yourself. Coachella, I've heard about that one, a belgian choir "Scala" is coming this year too. We've got a lot of great festivals here, from may to september one after another. We've also got a lot of charming, small festivals, and some more underground stuff as well. And the biggest advantage is, that Belgium is small, so everything is nearby.

It's true, the average belgian citizen doesn't give a fuck if the country gets seperated or not, it's just the politicians who make up this thing, as if there's a big difference between Flanders & Wallonia. There are some differences, that's why we've got those different governments, but Belgium is a siamese twin, it's difficult, but we can't be seperated. In Flanders, the biggest political party (30%) has plans to seperate the country, but more like to reform the state, where every part organises 80% of the things, and 20% (social health care,...) remains federal. The only problem is: the longer it takes to form a government, the more we get in a bad position on the economical market. But we'll see, they'll found a solution anyway. But people get along, we just want our lives to be quiet and peaceful, like most of the people in suburbia. Anyway, I see you go to Beach House in february, already seen them before?

Yeah, we have got a rich medieval history, which is great. I live in Ghent, and the centre has got lots of hystoric buildings, cathedrals, and yet there's a vibrant atmosphere. So far history class ;) I think we've got a pretty negative reputation abroad. There's a Flemish part where we speak flemish (sort of like dutch, but pronunciation's a bit different), and a french spreaking part. The thing is: we've got a federal, belgian government, and two seperate governments for the two parts (actually there's also a german speaking part, which also has a small government). The problem is Brussels, where they speak both french and flemish, but mostly french. Another problem is: Flanders is more liberal, Wallonia is socialistic, so each part has a different political preference. And than they have to work together to form a federal government --> Huge problem. It's not that we're really different people, but there's a lack of confidence, and no will to cooperate. It's pretty dumb actually ^^

a film major, nice! It must be great to do something creative. Yes, there are some good french movies, I'm only familiar with the modern ones, or Louis de Funès. obviously Amélie Poulain is pretty famous, but it's a good movie. I could recommend "A la folie, pas du tout", I really enjoyed that film. Et bien sur, je parle français ;) I'm from the Flemish part of Belgium, but I had French classes from age 11 till 18, so my French is pretty good, though I don't use it frequently. Off course it's an advantage, as it's one of the biggest languages in the world. greetz :-)

thanks, I always enjoy a good movie, and it's certainly special to discouver some old French films. I was intruiged by those pictures, I love the vintage atmosphere. How did you get interested in those movies?
