I picked up on Clapton pretty late, my wife gave me a copy of the biography and a copy of the Complete Clapton, still haven't read the book but the music really hooked me in. That was maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I'm still not crazy about Layla but he's got other stuff like the ones from Cream and Blind Faith that are really awesome. Plus Slowhand and 461 Ocean Blvd. Just some really good stuff that I skipped out on for a really long time.

I love that song too, but then again I'm a bit of a fan and I love them all :) Speaking of corporate rock, I've been stock piling Styx and REO Speedwagon records over here. I thought when I moved to Austin those kinds of vinyl records would be all over the place just like Cali, turns out not so much so now when I find a Styx album it's a score! Pieces of Eight rocks, just saying...

I would definitely agree with you on that, Jupiters Darling was a really awesome album. It's where the Wilson Sisters started writing their own songs again, it's a lot like some of their seventies albums with the acoustic songs and rockers mixed in. I love all their later albums, they have a new one out called Beautiful Broken that is well worth a listen too. Rock that Heart! Cheers \m/\m/!

Hey stranger! Hope you like the Israel K. My family and I just got back from Hawaii today and he was being played pretty much every where we went. Heard a street artist doing a rendition of Hawaii '78 and it's a pretty deep sounding song, I'd definitely give that one a listen.

Hey! I dug it, sounds more in line with the other albums. Vapor Trails always kind of stuck out to me as kind of an odd one in terms of the way it sounded. I still need to go back and listen to it a bit more. I picked it up along with Dream Theater's self titled and I've been playing that one quite a bit more. How's things going with you?

I liked your shouts about Tom Waite's 9th & Hennepin. I moved to MN in '92, so I never got to see Hennepin when it was that dicey. Cheers!

late re on your comment on my board. i didnt mean that synths on '83 Walk Into Light was outdated in that time, but from present-point of view. I still like them more than synths in the Under Wraps album (on Walk Into Light the synths are very atmospheric, quite dark, intense and in that time also inventive). As of Marillion - it's not band for everyone's taste and it can be difficult to get into it. They are more about great lyrics and atmospehere than musical / instrumental prowess. I really like them for their lyrics (which has very personal meaning to me) and nice music flow, but they can be boring for some people (and some of their works are really dull).

In honour of Rush being inducted into the R&RHOF today I think we should all play "Limelight", seems kind of appropriate... don't you think ? You don't have to stand facing towards Toronto while saluting unless you want to of course :)

Thanks, you've got some awesome stuff on here too. Yeah, its pretty cool living in Manchester but it loses some of the mysticism when you see Mark E Smith in the pub or Johnny Marr outside a shop. I just got into Husker Du recently and its like I couldn't believe I hadn't been listening to them before. I'm actually not for Manchester, I'm from Barnsley (Near Sheffield) all we have is Arctic Monkeys...

Heh it was from some weird anime theme song - Detroi Metal City. Legend said that main character - death metal vocalist, could growl 11 rapes in 1 second. Pretty stupid but it was funny back then in my anime lovin era ;) Cheers!

Thanks! You have an awesome avatar too - is that your truck? About my username: Durga was a character (a Hutt) in a Star Wars novel I read back in the mid 90s. I just really liked the name, so when it came time to create an Internet username, I decided to combine it with my love of Rush. What I find really interesting is that the book was written by Kevin J. Anderson, who now, of course, has an extremely strong tie to Rush - it's almost like "Clockwork Angels" is something I was destined to read. :D
