I love the Mountain Goats. Tallahassee is my favorite LP overall but I love All Hail West Texas and Heretic Pride and Get Lonely all nearly as much. The new record is really good; I might like it more than All Eternals Deck although that was good too. I love the experimental arrangements and electronic inflections. John's songwriting is as good as ever too. My favorite songs are probably "Lakeside View Apartments Suite", "Night Light", "Cry For Judas" and "Transcendental Youth." Good album.

that is really a tough question that pretty much depends on what your favorite side of east river pipe is. if you're looking for a starter album, i'd go for the "goodbye california" 10" (or "shining hours in a can" if you can find it, it collects the first two 10"s), "poor fricky" is also a really excellent album. hope i could be of help ;)
