Leslie Edward "Les" Claypool (ur. 29 września 1963 roku w Richmond, Kalifornia) - amerykański basista rockowy, tekściarz, multi-instrumentalista, kompozytor, założyciel i lider grupy Primus i Oysterhead.
Zamiłowanie do muzyki zaszczepił w nim kolega ze szkoły Kirk Hammett (Metallica).
Mistrzostwo Claypoola na basie elektrycznym wyniosło go na reflektory, dzięki jego funkowemu i kreatynemu stylowi grania. Claypool łączy finger-tapping, strumming w stylu flamenco i technikę slapowania Larrego Grahama, by stworzyć swój unikatowy styl i wzbudzić poważanie wśród innych rockowych talentów bassowych, stając się przy tym wpływem i wzorem dla młodych basistów.
Claypool wyprodukował sam swój solowy album we własnym studio "Rancho Relaxo.". W roku 2006 zrealizowany został film pełnometrażowy "Electric Apricot" napisany i wyreżyserowany przez Claypool, tak jak debiutancka nowela "South of the Pumphouse".
