Banisher, an extreme death metal band, has been founded in 2005 in Rzeszów, Poland by Hubert Więcek (currently Decapitated, Redemptor, Acid Drinkers) and Michał Such.
After their first demo entitled “Sorrow of Death” (2005), EP “Human Sacrifice” (2006), several gigs & festival appearances they released their debut album, “Slaughterhouse” (self-released, by the end of 2010). The band then relocated to Cracow.
However, the true shape of the band emerged in 2013, with the new line-up and new album
“Scarcity” (2013, Unquiet Records/Defense Records).
The music on “Scarcity” is a slight change of pace compared to what they’ve done before. The tracks are faster, simpler and more intense, which makes the album an extreme and relentless 30 minutes of death metal maintaining their own personality and originality through groovy rock’n’roll riffing. The drums warrant particular attention, as they were recorded by Łukasz “Lucass” Krzesiewicz (Gnida, Sammath Naur).
In 2016 polish death metallers are coming back with their 3rd full-length album, called “Oniric Delusions”, released by Deformeathing Production.
In the meantime, Hubert joins Decapitated as a bass player.
“Oniric Delusions” contains over 30 minutes of technical, groovy and catchy guitar riffing, intense and extreme drumming, aggressive and brutal vocals, which together give furious, ruthless yet mature and deliberate piece of music, showing fresh approach toward modern death metal.
At the end of 2018 Banisher enters Invent-Sound Studio torecord their 4th LP “Degrees of Isolation”.
With powerful line-up, including current, live or former members of Decapitated, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Belphegor, Vital Remains,
Acid Drinkers, Redemptor, Hate and Shodan, the band records their most diverse, mature, musically and technically advanced yet very aggressive, furious, raw and savage album. Based on true life experiences lyrics make the music on “Degrees of Isolation” dark and depressive. Every song describes feelings and emotions during various situations during incarceration, being held in custody and after being acquitted.
The album has been released on the 29th of February 2020 by Selfmadegod Records
