Have seen some videos and what not from Jan's latest album and damn, that mustache looks horrible, he should shave.

Well I really do like Jan, first heard him back in 2001 when he was with Absolute Beginner, ever since then really liked his voice (even though I know many find it a bit odd). I really loved Mercedes Dance and don't mind if he branches out to try different styles, so I'm sure I'll like the new album. As for French stuff well I don't speak a word of it but from what little French hip hop I've listened to so far the beats are good, so I'll check out Akhenaton. As for Chen, I'd rather not talk about him, just boils my blood, such a crook.

I actually only started listening to French hip hop in the last month or so. I don't understand a word but SSC, Shurik'n and others have great beats.

Several songs I can actually understand quite a bit, Haus am See for example. The beats are so good, but even more then that the orchestral pieces are so good, did he get one of the Berlin philharmonic groups to do the album with him?

Well I'm originally from the USA but years ago I studied German a lot and really wanted to move to Germany (well actually I'd still like to move to Germany but I'm in Taiwan ATM). My mom had a German exchange student live with her in 2001 and he introduced me to a lot of German and other Euro music, especially German hip hop stuff like Blumentopf, Samy/Dynamite Deluxe, Absolute Beginner, Jan Delay, etc. Since 2001 I've listened to as much German hip hop as I could. As for Taiwanese hip hop I only know of one group but I really like them, have seen them preform once and was quite impressed. http://www.last.fm/music/%E6%8B%B7%E7%A7%8B%E5%8B%A4 They don't sing at all in English but check it out, I like a lot of their beats. As for other Taiwanese music a lot of it I cant stand as it's too pop and the lyrics even I could write (and my Chinese isn't that good).
