I also can't wait for the next release. I hope the label is not dead yet. The website seems rather deserted. Last release I got in my hands is: http://www.discogs.com/Point-7-What/release/1689955 A pretty good one I must say.

I wonder if there is any difference between these two records: http://www.discogs.com/ORang-P-53-10¹⁸Hz-Remixes/release/546563 and http://www.discogs.com/ORang-P53-Boymerang-Mix/release/276111 . if they are the same i've got every single track they've made.

It's that one. Found a rip on what.cd. (torrent page). The seeder is really on and off though, so i only have the first track so far. How is the remix?

Ah, that group, guess i should join. This group also has some decent discussion sometimes: http://www.last.fm/group/Go+To+Sleep . Yeah loud tracks will easily wake you up. Kompakt's Pop Ambient mixes usually does the job nicely for me, so soft and mellow all of them - as opposed to their total series. 2010 was out last week. Even the cover art is completely harmless. I have no doubt that he will be a biosphere expert by the age of 7! Biospheres first ever musical output (as 'e-man', a self titled cassette from 1985) was re-released on vinyl in december. i'll see if i can get a rip up. it's mostly him singing over electro-pop beats, but it supposedly contains his first ambient track, so it should at least make for an interesting listen.

Yeah the Talk Talk cd's are not pricey at all, they have been re-released several times. The Laughing Stock vinyl on the other hand is very hard to get, i could easily score 250$ for my copy, only 1000 were pressed. I've never been able to find o.rang on any format really... i ordered a Fields & Waves 10" once, but it never arrived so i got my money back, apparently he didn't have it after all. Grado makes excellent headphones, i think they are the best brand together with denon. When i get rich i want to buy some Denon AH-D5000's, they have insane sound and are made of mahogny wood, but are always 500$ +. I do most of my non-headphone listening on vinyl, as my cd player is crap but i have a Project Debut III deck which works great. Would be interesting to hear what you make of Laughing Stock, i love that album. Here is my 5.0 albums on RYM: http://rateyourmusic.com/collection/New_Grass/r5.0

Hope you had a nice holiday too! It's almost 30-c and tons of snow here so i built a nice snowman with my girlfriend. You should definitely get 'Laughing Stock', it's way more O.Rang-y than 'Spirit Of Eden'. I wish that the demos for the Laudhailer O.Rang album leaked one day. I think they had at least one more great album in them. Your set-up sounds great! I'm only a poor student so i can't afford that much stuff. My computer set-up is only a couple of old creative speakers, but they have a really nice and warm sound. In my living-room i have QLN Qubic speakers which are great for a rather low price (about 200$). Most of my listening is done on my Denon AH-D1001 headphones though.

You can't go wrong with 'Spirit Of Eden' and 'Laughing Stock' (that one has ascension day on it). They are both masterpieces, and by far my most listened albums on last.fm. You can definitely tell how .O.Rang evolved from those albums, especially the latter one. Here is some Supersilent: 5: hxxp://www.meg@upload.com/?d=QN6D5FFM 6: hxxp://www.medi@fire.com/?zjndzybtohz

Koner's music is the soundtrack to my life. Isolated, hauting, cold, dark, yet calm and gets you through the worst times. Just like now. I can't find any other artist which shows you the emerald world of embracing sounds better than Thomas. Glad you like "Brohuk" - it's one of my favorites. Others include "Tabula Smaragdina", "Ilira", "Grohuk (Day)" (surprising?), "Nuuk (Air)", "Nuuk (End)", "Kaamos 2" and "Daikan".

Hey Kevin. Kim Skovbye is a Danish harpist whose folk/newage style ranges somewhere between Alan Stivell and Loreena McKennitt. In 1997 he wrote a sort of "book soundtrack" for The Hobbit, which he aptly called There and Back Again. When the Jackson trilogy took the world by storm, Skovbye decided to score the LotR books with the same "Celtic" approach he did on The Hobbit. Be warned, this is radically different from Howard Shore's orchestral music :) http://fonixmusik.com/artist_KSKOVBYE http://youtube.com/watch?v=xsJe0kTSVuU

What Oöphoi albums do you recommend for an Oöphoi beginner? I've only heard 'An Aerial View', but it made me hungry for more.

That's ok. Let me know if you require an upload. I own all their stuff on both cd, vinyl and i always go see them live so i don't feel bad sharing their stuff for free.

Sounds like a plan. Don't give up on it even if you don't like 6 though, it's probably their most unique album. Yeah i guess i'm pretty lucky. I've seen nearly all Rune Grammofon/Smalltown Supersound acts which is kind of nice. You have a couple of guys that work in the same city as i live (Like Rune from Rune Grammofon), they put all their effort into showcasing the artists they love, and that makes up for quite the amount of decent concerts a year. Last year they made Supersilent play 3 nights in a row with different guest musicians each day (notably Motorpsycho and Nils Petter Molvær). That blew my mind. The downside of it is that international artists don't come here often. Especially artists from U.S and Canada. And when they come here the concerts are rather pricey..

Yeah it's severely depressing.. not a track for happy sunshine days. I own all Supersilent releases so i can give you a short entry-index: 1-2-3 is always bundled together. It's very noisy at times, with fast off-key drumming. It lacks Arve Henriksen which i think is pretty noticeable. 2 has some great moments and 1 and 3 is not bad releases but i don't listen to those a lot. 4 is probably my 3rd favorite album by them. It's not as noisy as 1-2-3, more jazzy and very dark. 5 continues i the same vein, probably the album that features the most Deathprod input. It's mixed from live recordings. IMO '6' is their masterpiece, and on my top 5 of all time list. I wouldn't say it's a relaxing album, but not as challenging as their other works. Hear it.. the track 6.2 WILL blow your mind. 7 is a live dvd, i've seen them life 4 times and it doesn't quite capture their live spirit. 2007's 8 is a bit of a return to form, Arve Henriksen is not as prominent, and it's more noisy again.

Yeah. The two 'Journey To The Centre' tracks are the best ones, the rest of the album is also very good though, probably my second favorite biosphere related album after substrata but before cirque. Deathprods album 'Morals & Dogma' is something you need to check out if you haven't heard it, the track 'dead people's things' is 18 minutes of pure dark bliss.

I agree 100%. Fields & Waves is their best album, but Anaon, the Oasis is the best thing they have ever committed to tape. Who does the vocals on that one? Is it Paul Webb? He really has a decent voice. Love the part where they sing something like 'she don't know it yet' until the song explodes into the last part. I'm surprised to find another O.Rang fan, they have a really small fanbase. It's a shame that so few people discover them considering how many that love Talk Talk's two last albums.

Gave the Spoor EP a spin now. I must admit it sort of sounds like the tracks that were left of Herd Of Instinct (like the title implies..), but it's still very good. You can definitely tell that it's ideas that didn't really fit with the rest of Herd Of Instinct. 'An Ocean Ahead' is definitely .O.Rang showing their most electronic side, 'Core' shows their most abstract side and N'Hoojek & Charabanc D.I.P. really goes all out on the world music influence. Thanks for the up, will give it a couple more spins later.

Yeah i was completely surprised when i heard it as well. I hope it will see the light of day someday. Even if it's never released as an album i would really like to just hear some of the tracks. Have you ever heard TIm Friese Green's project 'Heligoland'? I'm really curious to know how it sounds since from what i've heard he played a large part in making the two last Talk Talk album sound like they did, and it supposedly sounds a bit like .O.Rang. I don't know if you are a huge Talk Talk fan though, but most O.Rang fans love their later material and vice versa.

Hi! noticed your post on the .O.Rang page. they are actually still working on a new album. i know a guy who knows a source pretty close to the band. according to him they were (as of last summer) they have recorded about 20 songs. i don't know if a release is ever going to happen, but they are at least still working. also; is the Spoor EP worth getting? I love their other material but i haven't been able to get a hold of that one.
