By the way, since I trust your taste (the Dead and Floyd are my two favorite bands!), could you do me a favor and tell me about Zappa? I've been exploring the annals of rock history for a couple of years now and he comes up every now and then, but the fact that his discography is so huge and that the comedy tag hangs around his work have consistently kept me from taking the plunge. But I know that's probably unfair; I mean, you're not the only one I've seen who has similar taste to mine, but then also listens to a ton of Zappa. So can you tell me a little about his music and why you love it?

If you want to hear another great golden age group you should check Pete Rock & CL Smooth. Both Mecca and the Soul Brother and The Main Ingredient are amazing. And there is no Illmatic in your library but i assume you know it, dont you?

hey that's great, if it's music like Dilla or Madlib's you're interested in, you're in luck because that's what i have a lot of. I saw you had The Whitfield Brothers, if you like live soulful jazzy funk instrumentals you should give Clutchy Hopkins or Shawn Lee, they actually have an album together called Clutch of the Tiger, it's pretty right. if you've ever heard Madlib's Yesterdays New Quintet it sounds sort of similar, and is also another one i'd vouch for.
