Hey you....how are you?

No specific plans this summer other than some concerts. We'll probably go to Michigan at some point for vacation or maybe Virginia later in the summer. St. Vincent will be here next week and Memoryhouse the week after. Also plan on seeing Dawes, Great Lake Swimmers and Nada Surf in June and Margot & the Nuclear So and So's (from Indy) and Alabama Shakes in July. Might see Band of Skulls in August. Definitely seeing the Avett Brothers at the end of September. I'm not sure who the Avetts are touring with this year, but last year it was The National. That was such a kick-ass show, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I hope you have a great time in Chicago! Frankly, I don't know how one could not have fun in Chi-Town. Excellent museums, great food (the pizza is divine), beautiful architecture. I've been there several times, went to some great concerts up that way. One of the highlights is going to the Shedd Aquarium and taking a water taxi from there to Navy Pier.

My month is turning out to be insanely busy and I'm not going to make it for a road trip this time around, but someday. They're still on my list.

Well, they're not coming to my town, or even my state for that matter, but they're on my list of bands I really REALLY want to see live, so I'm thinking... maybe a road trip.

No home improvement projects of note. There was some wine, some Scrabble, some Ryan Adams. Oh, also: laundry. A thrill all the way around, really.

i hope not - winter blues are lousy. But I do think it's a good album, really I do.

I like her latest album; in some of her earlier stuff she sometimes sounds a bit like a Disney princess (all the vibrato reminding me of Snow White, perhaps), but her latest is much more grounded. I think it's her first self-produced album, too.
