Great scrobbles! I feel like I’m only scratching the surface of Bay Area rap rn, any suggestions?

Thank you, same to you! Spice 1 is actually probably my favourite and you've been listening to him for years it looks like. E-40 wouldn't be far behind. I'd give Mac Mall's first two album a go, if you haven't? B-Legit's The Hemp Museum is awesome as well. Not many people give B-Legit his props! Celly Cel is also very slept on, I love his 90s albums.

Ha! Yeah well I love The South Park Psycho. I think that's an excellent album. I only have heard the rest of the albums from the initial Rap-A-Lot run and I felt that each album was weaker than the last. He kind of fell off quick, which is a shame. South Park Psycho is so good though and at least Psychic Thoughts and Psychotic Genius are worth checking out.

That's some real nice library. It's getting rare to see someone listening to old school hip-hop around here.

Hi there! What's the best Celly Cel album? I came across him not too long ago. I saw him Dru Down's Similar Artists section.

Did you hear Mark Morales (aka Prince Markie Dee) of the Fat Boys died? One day short of his 53rd birthday.

Ever listened to Macho Man Randy Savage's hip-hop/rap material? It's surprisingly good.

I noticed you listening to Clutch earlier. I only recently got their music. I also see that they're number one in your all time top artists. I like them, I discovered them thanks to the Tony Hawk's Underground soundtrack.

What do you think of Riff Raff? That MTV dude. He has some really impressive songs, IMO. Ever listened to him?

Ever listened to K-Dot (before Kendrick Lamar was Kendrick Lamar)? Check out the 2 mixtapes he released. They're called Training Day and C4. Oh and Jay Rock & K-Dot is good too. They have one mixtape called No Sleep 'Til NYC.

I've listened to the first 3 tracks off The Element of Surprise. So far I love the first track the most. This is a really excellent album. I'm gonna get more E-40 albums. He has an extra large discography I noticed.

What are the best E-40 albums? I only have The Ball Street Journal and In a Major Way. I've listened to 11 out of 16 tracks off the In a Major Way album.

I finally got around to checking out Ice Cube's song rapping. I listened to the song House Party. He's really good. Different than his dad. I'll have to scrobble him one of these days.

It was the same for me when I started listening to 40. At first i only liked his classic albums from the 90s/early 00s. I would say you should start with the two Revenue Retrievin Albums (Dayshift & Nightshift). Then you can decide if the newer E-40 is for you or not, because I personally love these two Albums but a lot of old school rap heads don't really dig his newer sound. But I see that you listened to Rick Ross, so you probably will like it ;)

Ha, well I am not a big Rick Ross fan at all really. I own two of his albums, God Forgives, I Don't and Hood Billionaire. God Forgives is a decent at best album, it is actually considered one of his worst from what I can tell but I think it is at least 50% decent 50% crap. Not that good really but I like some of it. Hood Billionaire I bought yesterday new for £1 from a music shop that is closing down in my city, so I couldn't say no. I haven't listened to it properly yet. I will definitely listen to those albums at some point, thanks for the recommendations. I like the song Drugs from the Overtime Shift album with B-Legit.

Remember AK40 Devin? He performed at Webster Hall (NYC venue close to me) not too long ago. He's going places. He's an up and coming rapper.

I'll check him out. BTW, do you know anything about the horrorcore rapper Death? I read he's really good and I believe he's a pioneer of horrorcore rap. I know he's from the southern region of the United States.

I checked out Menace Clan's Da Hood song off YouTube. I like it. It totally has an old school rap vibe.
