According to my notifications, DickB left a comment earlier this year... he deleted his profile before I got a chance to read it. I don't know about anybody else to be honest... almost 10 since years since I joined Y!A. Fucking frightening.

That's a shame would be good to get some of the old crew together. You live in Europe right? How's things where you are? I can't download any music anymore your recs are too obscure for Spotify lol could only get that jam baxter on there. Couple people I been bumping a lot is Jid and joey badass know anyone like them? I appreciate you don't fuck with rap much now what do u listen to? I also enjoy British guitar music.

I'd recommend looking into some artists from the Griselda Camp (good upstate NY mafioso rap that's been getting a lot of attention). Rome Streetz and $ha Hef are some other decent NY rappers... they're not necessarily pushing the genre forward but dudes are upper-tier as far as Mid-Atlantic hardcore/gangster rap... I know a few others but see what you think. I know how to find this stuff but I just don't have the time anymore. Almost every city over 100,000 in the US now has a scene and at least one decent rapper.

Well its almost 3 month later. Last.Fm don't seem to send me email notifications anymore and I sort of forgot the site even existed. Looks like it's going to be another typical season for us. Bayern in the Champions League again is just ludicrous and I really can't see us progression, nor can I see us catching Chelsea. Looks like 2nd and an FA Cup win would be the best we could hope for this season. Wouldn't be entirely surprised if it's Wenger's last, which would make next exciting but also kinda scary. I think we need change if we're ever going to progress though

i just have very good long term memory despite my extensive drug use. saint etienne embody the post-stone roses alt dance sort of sound i've been looking for and really make it beautiful. not a fan of house music etc, even madlib's theme for a broken soul is not really a replayable record for me, but saint etienne really nail what the stone roses were missing with a fucking great vocalist. really into that alt dance style now, though through the "basics" of the sub-genre, i've yet to find real stand out's. i'm ultimately looking for a sound like mbv's "Soon"...for the length of an album, yet don't want a constant repetitiiveness. idk. i've become a real bitch and simple minded fool with my music since i quit my free jazz phase in 2014, and have become a degenerate miscreant that i would have abhorred in the rhh days. fuck, really, the only rap i listen to are the "classics" and a few things here and there, like metro zu lmao. how have you been? have you finished your studies yet?

Hey man, hope you're doing well (or better than Arsenal at this current moment at the least). New season same mistakes it seems. Two chances to go top of the table and two chances not taken, it's typical really. Anyway just felt the need to vent a little after yesterday's frustration. How's life been treating you?

Hey mate, been a bit. Listening to music again after a long hiatus, so I ended up back on YA for a bit. Posted this Q and wondered what you'd think: [url removed]

That's cool that you're sticking to your guns; better to be a master of one trade than a jack of all, I'd say. What made you guys want to go to Florence in particular (aside from perhaps the obvious reasons)? And what was odd about the apartment in Barcelona?
操作

DickBigems
Yeah, then there's just flat out misinterpretation. I read a review of ATWIAD that said the outro to the song "Temptation" was, and I quote, "where God kills Prince for being too sexist." Prince (as an artist) is still an enigma to people, even to supposedly big fans of his work. A substantial chunk of his art is guided by the same basic ideas, and Prince sometimes put his beliefs fairly plainly in his lyrics, and yet I don't think many notice how much those albums in the '80s are connected thematically... His death definitely came as a shock. It was kind of hard to believe at first. I still think and read a lot about him and his music. How have you been coping? ...Are you still into citizen engagement and all that jazz? Or have you moved on to more glamorous topics? lol. Dude, that's fucking awesome. Florence, Italy!

It just irritates me to see comments like that. Not even the fact that it's negative about Prince, just that the opinion is based on preconceived notions and assumptions. Opinions are useless if they're uninformed. What compels people to speak on things they admittedly know very little to nothing about? If only there were a culture where people stuck to what they know... Anyways, I just had to rant a bit about that. Nothing too interesting is up on my end. How are you doing these days?

Great knowledge about a great artist. Thanks. In my fav tracks I find "America", "Chelsea Rodgers", "I Would die 4 U" , "The Love we Make" (from Emancipation) and a unknown from Art Official Age, "U Know". In albums, I have a special affection to Around the World in a Day. And Batman soundtrack.

Hi! Sorry for the late response. I've sort of left Last.FM sadly due to its mixed execution of its new platform. But yes, not since Donna Summer have I been so shaken by an artist departing our plane of existence. I'm thankful that I own all of his, barring "2010" and the last two. You mentioned you're following me on Twitter or rather reading me there. Are you on there? If so, let me know if you're following me with a tweet or direct message. I look forward to hearing from you. Q.

The vinyls of his stuff are being reissued, and so far (at least on Amazon) the prices are decent. Stuff like the Purple Rain tourbook and more memorabilia type stuff is what has gone insane price wise. I too was a bit pissed at those who paid him dust while he was still here then went out and bought his records, but, I mean it's not that big a deal. I think he def appreciated the "fans", but, he had a weird way of showing it lol. And listening to songs like 'Way Back Home' off AOA now, him wanting to be "left alone" stuff like that. He was and still is the most mysterious guy ever. The memoir was gonna be something special.

You basically said how I felt.. His stuff was really dear to my heart. Honestly always thought he'd be like 75 and still jamming via a wheelchair or something.
