Arcade fire was good, the crowd was a bit shit as half the people were drunk by the time they came on and were only there for mumford and sons, dicks. Nah, I'm going to give it a miss. I know, sacrilege! It's come down to the fact that I know how I am, and I don't tend to enjoy those kind of bigger gigs. I like the artists' performances but I hate crowds anyway, and don't engage with bigger gig scenarios much. I just stand there and generally leave more indifferent than anything else. If I got to the front row and was a bit drunk I could get way into it, but I have to be in a certain mood. The majority of occasions I spend somewhere in the middle-front staring at the back of someone's head, cramped and irritated. I think I felt like I should go more than I actually wanted to too. The line-up is nuts, how could I not, right? It's the logistics, not the music or artists. I'd rather just bump the CDs at home. I'm an awkward cunt. The fact the woman I know at the Apollo couldn't get me a discount because it changed to the Academy sort of sealed me not going anyway, because £34 is a lot for something I probably won't get the most out of.
